So, I got a little surprise of some extra money and decided to get myself something nice (no, not a pair of red bottoms or YSL sun glasses...) wich = something for my fish babies. We drive by the fish store I volunteer at and my son begs to visit our pea puffers. *sigh* OK Michael just a few minutes though ok? "HEY YOU, I got something that's gonna make your day. I found it in overflow storage.. and I didn't put it out on the floor yet to see if you wanted first crack at it" says my manager as she slides this bad boy out... A Mr Aqua 12 g long. I have been pining for one of these forever- but being discontinued the only place I can find them is random sellers online and shipping this beauty would be a poor choice. Yay yay yay! I got a good price on it too... but now what do I do with it? Any suggestions guys? Edit: This is my first "long" under 20 gallons, so I could use any advice or tips, especially on stocking and equipment. I'm thinking a dwarf puffer species? Maybe South American puffer, prob no pea puffers. I'm in love with female Carinotetraodon Loreti and Irrubesco (the two freshwater red eye dwarf puffer species) but have given up (for now) after a long time of searching. I want something less common, with personality- ideas? Attachments:

ooooooooo.... love long tanks and it seems like the fish appreciate it too. Puffers would be cool... I was thinking small species.. maybe a planted nano species tank. Look forward to see what you come up with. So, was the visit to the store for your son or for you

lol thanks Devin, I'm fighting the overwhelming urge to turn this into a shrimp and betta tank, the low water level and large footprint make it an obvious choice.
I try not to stop in when I'm not scheduled because I get grumpy when I find tanks that are behind on maintenance or bettas looking droopy so I end up doing it myself and my son runs wild, begging to take home pea puffers and harassing the all female stafff (who adore the little cheese ball) He left in tears that visit bc they were all sold and the tank was empty... He's 5 taking care of a 5.5gal shrimp tank now to prove he's responsible enough for his own male betta or fancy guppies. But he now seems to think we're going to skip right to intermediate/expert level fish keeping and he'll get a swath of pea puffers. It was my son who got me into fishkeeping- it was his first love before it became mine! Maybe once I don't have to mop up a gallon of the tank water every time he does his pwc's!

Oh Oh Oh I want one, This would be awesome for a planted Nano and emergent plants like the Peace plant I have in my 75. I would go with shrimp and dwarf Cory cats. Richard
