I posted a question about this under the AAP Board, in response to Devon's latest video.

Here is my response the the other board. I just notice a slow leak coming from (?the back of the motor housing?) on my XP2, and was wondering if I need to replace the gasket. Do you have any videos about that/any XP2 problems? Last year after the motor died (per Carl's suggestion) I bought a Rio 1000 to power it ( and added the Vecton 2 to the XP2's return line). I only noticed the leak because there was a puddle in the tray that the filter sits on under the tank; the only drips were at the back where I mentioned, but when I put the thing (obviously not running) on the sink, and let it sit at different angles for a while, I couldn't find any water drops anywhere. I've just left the HOB running in the tank till after Tuesday. Angelminx We do not have a video for Filstar problems, just our generic trouble shooting information for canister filters. This could be the O ring, but since this appears to be a very slow leak, I more suspect a problem with the Quick disconnect assembly: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Filstar.html#valveFor canister filter troubleshooting: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Filtration.html#canistertroubleCarl

I think Carl is right. I had the same problem with my XP4...I replaced the quick disconnect assembly and it fixed it until I took it off line..
