VERY well said! Thanks! I would ass that part of the reason that sun light has sterilization properties is that sunlight also contains UVA and UVB, although north or south of the tropics, this will vary upon season, with north or south of the 45th parallel this UVB is only present during certain parts of the season. I left out one important part... The way the redox value changes with light is due to direct molecular bond changes from photon impact. The result of this is an atom/molecule with a higher or lower oxidation state, which is then shown as a change in measured redox value.
It's a small but important distinction. Redox is a chemical reaction, while irradiation is direct manipulation of the bonds without a chemical reaction.

This is well explained, something I will add to the Redox article (if you do not mind). Carl

Feel free to edit it and make it make some sense. I tend to ramble and repeat myself, and even leave out

I edited my post, I had a flashback and read it again just now. I had swapped Oxidation value with Oxidation State, which means just the opposite on an ORP meter.

Just yesterday in an article update my brain was thinking one thing and I typed another. Worse yet is I re-read it a few times, then I got up this morning and re-read it again and could hardly understand what I was writing?? Carl
