I was just researching reproduction in guppies and came across a very interesting article about guppies experiencing menopause. Sorry if the topic of menopause is not appropriate here even if it's with fish. Here's the link. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10643970/I'd like to point out some inaccuracies on it such as it stated that guppies lay eggs. They indeed do produce eggs but they give birth to live young. This also raises a question about guppies reproducing. Once I heard that older female guppies produce larger broods. If that is the case, why would they go into menopause which is where they start having less offspring and then stop altogether if they are supposed to be producing LARGER broods at the end of their lifespan? Again, sorry if this is inappropriate.

It is quite interesting. Did you see any misinfo in it? The way the reader had to correct that guppies gave birth to live young made it seem kind like it was done poorly.

Yes, it was poorly worded in many places (but then I too make these kinds of mistakes), however their was an updated correction and the despite some misleading errors, it still was a "good read" Carl
