Whats your oppinion about this food? I used to feed my fish with it, but some strange things happened, so i formed one test aquarium where i had 3 herbivores and mainly fed with Granugreen (one time a day with Tetra Discus and one time Granugreen).
Results were devastating... That was the first and the last time i had bloat. All three fishes died. When i put few pellets in a cup with water, after few mins they become like rubber. Literally like rubber and i couldnt mash it at all...
So, did anyone had same or similar problems with that food, or maybe i have just run into bad package or something like that?

I have not used Sera Foods for many years, but in all honesty, when I did, they were much better than Tetra (which in my experience, Tetra tends to be one of the lower quality fish foods). It is possible you received a bad batch too, especially if it was open and moisture got in that could have allowed growth of bacteria or saprolegnia, which then could be deadly. Ingredients often can tell the story too; Ingredients: Fish meal, corn starch, wheat gluten, wheat flour, wheat germ (7.2%), brewery yeast, fish oil, parsley, spirulina (1.6%), nettle, herbs, alfalfa, sea algae, peppers, spinach, carrots, Grünlippmuschelmehl, garlic Looking at these ingredients, this product uses plain Fish meal which is much lower quality than whole fish meal. Spirulina is very far down the list, which for a so called vegetable diet is not acceptable. But then the ingredients of Tetra Discus is not so good either: Fish and fish derivates, Cereals, Vegetable protein extracts, Yeasts, Molluscs and crustaceans, Oils and fats, Varoius sugars, Algae. Again the first and number one ingredient is poor followed by cereals (which are not readily used by fish) Please read our Fish Nutrition Article: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Quality_Fish_Food.htmlAs well these article from our Everything Aquatic Blog are a good read too: www.everything-aquatic.com/2014/12/fish-nutrition-101.htmlwww.everything-aquatic.com/2014/12/whats-wrong-with-making-dough.htmlCarl
