Has anyone had experience keeping Cockatoo Chiclids? I have traded 2 of my juvenile Red Marble BN plecos for a male triple red. I was just wondering if there is anything I should know or keep in mind. Stories are always welcome.

The Cockatoo Cichlid is species of Apistogramma that I have not kept. I would treat them as any South American Cichlid, but also consider that an aquarium is a closed system, so adding additional mineral Cations us still important. This species is not sensitive to higher pH either Resource: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apistogramma_cacatuoidesCarl

Very beautiful fish! Mine does not have the high fin spike look to him. He almost looks like an "orange flash" but his red is speckled like the cockatoo.
