Hi! I'm new to the forum- in fact, this is actually the very first forum I have ever joined after being the hobby full on for over a year. I've never been too keen on joining certain forums, as I have found there is an incredible amount of misinformation and contradicting opinions - not to mention sometimes a nasty, and quite unnecessary comment made by people who seem to be out to make others feel quite badly about their knowledge base. That said, my husband and I have joined this forum because we have the utmost respect for Carl Strohmeyer. It is mostly his articles we will turn to in order to research various aspects of the hobby. So....we've decided to join this one and only forum. We live in North Carolina and have a 7 year year old daughter. Ryan is a computer engineer, with near;y 20 years experience in network administration and hardware. I am in the healthcare field, with 20 years experience in holistic healing and am working towards my masters in nursing. My husband and I have multiple (6+) FW planted tanks and keep Bettas, Plecos, Corys, Loaches (Botia) and various Shrimp- Bamboo, CRS, Ghosties, Amano, etc. We have bred guppies and corys, and just gave away upwards of 60 handraised corys. We hope we can gain more insight into the art and science of fish keeping by joining a forum such as this. So- greetings and hello and we look forward to sharing in the ups and downs of aquarium life with all of you!

Welcome. Very great reason to join the forum. Kind of a higher standard around here. It's a place of good information, which is backed up and no one spitting out nasty comments, because they are having a bad day. The forum is a great place to document tank progress, if you ever want to share a picture Holistic healing huh? Interesting. My wife is a pharmacy tech, who converted over to natural meds (herbs). She's now a sale person for a large herb farm (they call it pharm) here in Oregon. Anyways. Great to have you here. Hope the forum fits your needs
