Stunning! That must have taken a lot of work. I've always loved the green carpet look... Can't really have plants with my cichlids. Sean.

I Love It!
How do you manage to get the "carpet" to stay in place? I have problems getting plants to stay in place when I plant them near each other (I would love to have a nice Vallisneria stand), that's why I use lead plant anchors (I stocked up on them a while ago), an even then I sometimes have problems. BTW, what is the plant in the corners...I am assuming some kind of Nymphaea?

Just shove it into the substrate, no particular trick as such. I do banish certain fish from the tank until it gets hold though, or I will spend my days replanting it lol
In the corners is red tiger lotus

Absolutely. Spectacular. Will you come and help me design my new 55g? How do you come up with your designs?

Thank you, I would certainly lend a hand if I could The tanks just sort of happen, I don't design it as such

Well, you certainly have a talent for it! I am going to use fake plants....I'm just not ready to tackle live plants yet. I am struggling with what type to buy, what height, how many do I need - overwhelming. I am paralyzed staring at my fish tank trying to envision the possibilities, lol. I don't want it to look fake even though I'm using fake plants.
How many plants did you use for the design (not including the ground cover)? How many different species of plants did you use?

Very nicely planted. Great job. Do you use co2 or excel at all?
