Sounds like he's been used to a larger amount of food for so long and now he's a little hungry. I would think he is getting to the new feeding schedule.

Is the scaping off the algae bad? Especially if he doing that because he's eating it? I haven't seen him do it, but theres no algae on gravel or floating and the top of ornament is have cleaned off. Just curious-

No, not in my opinion. If anything you are solving two problems: (1) Less algae (2) Lower nitrates due to less and higher quality food fed
The lower nitrates in turn will likely even further lower algae.

Back to the topic of the Paradigm food, I'm finding that it's a somewhat difficult adjustment for my fish. The Paradigm food sinks INSTANTLY and since I've been feeding Spirulina 20 flakes, my angels are used to top feeding. I'm sure my Cory cats and Syndontis are thoroughly enjoying it but my angels are getting frustrated and fighting with each other.

It floats, because of this.

I'm not able to get it to crush really at all unless I wet it first, which leads to it sinking almost instantly.

hmm, maybe I have some good rolly fingers. I'm using the herb., and I'm able to break it up into a power. I've tested all the other kinds and if I just take a little piece (size of a pea), I'm able to break it up into a fine power. This is what I would suggest for top feeders.

My angels don't care where or what the food is, they go after it with gusto. Even after the lights have been turned off (I've tried right away, and waiting for different amounts of time) and I am trying to feed my shrimp, pleco and cories (although the shrimp and cories eat whenever), the angels go straight for whatever food I add, and sometimes it doesn't even make it to the bottom

I'm using omnivore, I wonder if the herbivore formula is a little softer? Maybe try hitting it with a hammer or mallet? Or inject it with helium? Carl Well yeah! I can't believe I didn't think of that. I love hitting stuff with hammers...

I'm using omnivore, I wonder if the herbivore formula is a little softer? I did test all the formulas, but the omnivore was a bit harder. I was able to roll it into power though. I like the hammer idea! That would turn it into power.

I finished bagging up my last run of food for a little while Monday. I took the opportunity to do some Bass and Bluegill fishing. Unfortunately for me tomorrow I have to finish up a plumbing design job. Use a spoon and a saucer to pulverize it to your fishes liking if needed. A mortar and pestle is best but most people don't have one an that includes me.

It's been a few days now since completely running out of Spirulina 20 and I have to say, my fish are doing pretty well with the Paradigm. I have noticed that my 55G is much CLEANER using this food, the fish don't seem to produce nearly as much waste. They enjoy eating it and I'm finding that crumbling it is a bit easier now that it has been exposed to a bit of humidity after opening.

We are releasing our new Graze at catfishcon.com/sponsors.php this weekend. We do not create new gimmicky foods to increase sales. It took quite a bit of research and convincing me that this food was a good idea for plecos. As far as I am aware this is the only "pleco" food that will last at least 18 hours with them continuously feeding on it. Other grazing bottom feeders will more than likely like it as well. I have seen a video of ancistrus literally knocking each other off the food to get their turn at grazing on it. They really like it and like our other foods is a healthy food that the other fish can't eat that allows them to graze as they naturally do. As always we strive to provide a innovative high quality food that fills a niche that hasn't adequately been filled before. I hope that you and more importantly your fish appreciate our effort.

(clap)... Great release. This is an interesting concept for food. It's a good idea. EA is considering opening up the forum to sponsorships. You should think about becoming a sponsor. Get your own thread and be one of the first public sponsors.

We would definitely be interested in sponsoring EA. Carl if you do open the forum up to sponsors talk to Stephanie about it.
Parker on the upside you aren't paying for a very high percentage of water in our food.

Exactly. Most food (not just fish but all kinds of pets) is sold be weight rather than volume, so adding moisture makes the food weigh more while adding absolutely nothing of value in terms of nutrition.
Your food is awesome in my opinion - high quality ingredients, no filler, no packaging BS, and most of all VERY competitively-priced.

You know the limiting factor in how much water a food can contain is determined by the point at which it will grow mold. That number is about 10% moisture. Water is by far the cheapest ingredient!!

Clap, clap for Clayn. It will be nice to have him as a sponsor. Maybe move this thread under his sponsor broad.

We are still working on sponsoring the site. An increase in demand for the food is taking all of our money right now. Unfortunately our pallet of food on the way to be distributed has been lost. I took it to the freight house on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. They told me due to the holiday it wouldn't arrive at the destination until Tuesday. We contacted them on Tuesday and they lied to buy themselves some time saying that it wouldn't arrive until Friday. We give them a call yesterday and they tell us it went poof between Knoxville and Cincinnati. They have already had three days to try and find it and since our claim for lost goods is significant corporate is now involved. Carl has already paid for food that should be on the way to him as I type. Thanks Carl for understanding! So now we are scrambling to get ingredients to replace the food that is missing.
