I am now the proud keeper of 3 beautiful electric yellows! they are gorgeous! they are all hanging together for now, no signs of aggression or unhappiness as yet - don't expect any either - they came from a very reputable guy we all know as Jonv! can't ever thank him enough - trouble is after I got them acclamated, I had to go back to work, so I'm sitting here waiting unpatiently to get out so I can go home and stare at them some more - more later.....

My bad though John really because I did send four. I'm still here wondering why the other one didn't make it and it's got to be that male just freaked out with being shipped and wasn't going to tolerate anyone in the bag with him. I am very sorry about that John. As I told Carl while we were on the phone, if you need any of this species I have them and can send them out with no problems at all. I have another brood in the females mouth now as it is.
I think your platties SHOULD be ok really. I know you mentioned they might go to the bottom and I don't see the male chasing them up at the top, just hounding them out of the area is all. You have to also consider that platties are not likely to fight back like another African might so he should be content just keeping them out of the bottom. As always, you have any questions mail or call me John. Try using the cichlid salt Carl sells. I use that in all my tanks and it really brings out the colors very well. They are still stressed now so give them a few days I bet you'll see them settle in well and show the same colorings I have here.

NP at all really. It's good to send out some stock among the group too. Before, I'd always sold to people I'd never even talked to before, so giving a group out here is even better. John really prepped up for this and I'm sure that group will do well for him. I know I got him one very big male out there, but John also called saying one of the females has some clamped fins going and I can't seem to understand that. That smaller one I tell you was SMALLER by far and pretty much had to be a female, and these guys aren't at breeding age just yet. Only four months old and still growing so I doubt he would have been harassing her to get it on.
Either way, if something happens, fortunatly too I still have about 20 more of them and I can send replacements. Plus a nice big FAT brood going in the adult females mouth now.

the little female w/ the clamped fin must have been a little stressed yesterday - when I woke up today she was swimming around w/ all fins a wigglin' and acts like she owns the tank - beautiful little group - nice and healthy and happy! added a couple 1"+ zebra danios - will wait 5 days to add 4 or 5 neons - got my replacement blue rams today for my SA tank and 3 rasboros to dither about - would like to add a few white clouds to each and that's it - all my tanks are great! hope to get pics soon! ;D
