I took some more pictures today, and will post them soon. I peeked in the tank early this morning, and one of the Banjos was sitting inside the ceramic barrel ornament...I wasn't able to try for a picture tho, because the lighting/shadows were all wrong. I didn't see the other one; later this afternoon, tho, I found him up in the "trees", and got a couple pics. Also, I picked up a book not too long ago that I forgot I had (I didn't have any more room for it on the shelf with the other FW aquarium books), by Barron's, and copyrighted 2006, called "What Fish? A Buyer's Guide To Tropical Fish" by NICK FLETCHER with Other Aquarium Experts. It has more info in it than a lot of other books do--tho not quite as in-depth as I would wish (I'm greedy ), it is more than the typical symbols/generic info. It is priced at $16.99 (I got it at either Petco or Petsmart) and is 208 pages. In the back of the book are a couple pages each on choosing fish and quarantining them. This book does include the Banjo Catfish. It was an impulse buy (I had seen it on numerous visits to both stores) that I couldn't really afford, but I finally broke down and "threw caution to the wind". It has quite a few different fish in it, I just wish there were a lot more!

Hi Angelminx,
I heard back from Charles Harrison - who sells the Levamisole HCl. He feels those who had problems with it killing off fish didn't lower the aquarium temperature enough. He said the temperature has to be lowered to 75 degrees. Also, lights must be turned off and the tank covered to block out light. Since most of the fish that died were catfish and loaches, I still wouldn't use it until I had to (a known infection that it treats).
It will be difficult to dose Prazi-Pro for a 1 quart bath -- 1/4 ml would be the dose for 1 gallon....So 1/16 ml for 1 quart. That amount can be safely doubled, though to 1/8 ml for the 30 minute baths as per Carl.

Here are the pics I scanned from the "articles". In the 1st scan, the bottom one is from the Catfish In Depth column, and the top (and the following scans are) from the Bring On The Banjo article: I tried to attach the scan of the "title page"/photo, but it was over 1 MB. If you know how to reduce its size, let me know, and I'll try it again.

This pic is from AFM May 2005, page 48, the article "Fish that thrive in the Night", by Oliver Lucanus, beginning on page 46 (I haven't read the article yet): And this is a page from The Manual of Fish Health (Tetra Press, 1988 edition) by Dr. Chris Andrews, Adrian Exell and Dr. Neville Carrington, under "slimyness of the skin":

Here are more of the pics I have taken of my guys. These 3 are from last night when I was medicating them with PraziPro (there's a bubble in the way in the middle photo):

Excellent information, thanks for sharing! Do you have any links or similar we can provide as references to cite so as to provide proper credit for the photos? If OK with you, I think this would be a great blog post too for our Everything Aquatic Home PageCarl

Thanks, Carl. I'm not sure about links, or if I find any, how to post them so they "work". If you can give me some suggestions, I'll see what I can do. I'd be flattered to have this as a blog post ! Angelminx

The next series of pics where all taken together (after their 1st PraziPro bath): [In the middle shot, you can see one of the Ghost Shrimp zipping past. I don't remember if it's the same shrimp in the bottom left corner in the 3rd one, but I think it was.]

This is the last ("good") one of the series...a slightly different angle from the middle one in the above post (but both show fairly good "detail" of the bumps/ridges on their bodies--as does the final shot): In this one, King decided to make an appearance as I was taking the shot: This is the 2nd most recent photo taken (along with the 1st one--the most recent--from 2 posts ago): I will continue to take pictures of them (can't help myself ), but will try to restrain myself until they get moved to the 55G! I can make the links work if they do not show up correctly automatically.
If internet link references cannot be found, any information found on the books including the author so as to properly credit likely copyrighted content.

I meant to mention this last night, but on Friday evening--actually after 4 AM Saturday morning (I don't usually call it the next day until I have actually gotten some sleep...which I didn't this time)--I took a quick peek into the tank (after turning on the blue LEDs) and saw one of the Banjos nibbling at a piece of broken-up (because of their small mouths) Aqueon Bottom Feeder Tablet; and then last night, when I went to put them back into the tank after their 2nd PraziPro bath, I found some "Banjo poo" in the bucket with them. It was a fair amount (so I'm assuming it was from both of them), so they are definitely eating ! I still haven't seen much movement from them, although I do find them in different areas of the tank, and I have seen occasional fin movement. I still have only felt vibrations from one of them (when I handle them "at the same time"), but, of course, can't tell if it is always the same one or not.

BTW, catching them is easy (you don't even need a net), it's finding them that is hard...they blend in so well.

Guess what, Angelminx?
When the partner company (Pet Solutions) of the pet stores (Jack's Pets) where I buy fish has Banjo Catfish in stock again, I am going to write the fish buyer at Jack's and tell her to send some of Banjo Catfish to one of the stores near me (about an hour drive as the local store closed in 2012). I have really enjoyed your cat tales! The ones they carry only get about 4 inches long as adults (Bunocephalus coracoideus) - so they will work just fine in my 20 gallon. They can be loners or have friends. I will probably try one and see how he does - depends on size. If he is small, he would have go in my 10 gallon for a while. The clown pleco in the 20 gallon may kill it (it killed three small plecos over the years - one was a $30.00 fish!).
