I have a couple Chocolate Rabbit Snails that I got at the same time I got my Nerites (Petco's limited location 3-day fish/plant sale). Along with the "Rabbit" in this picture are my Moss Ball and a couple (each) Ghost Shrimp and Black Neons: Here is a close-up of one of the Rabbits. If you look close you can see one of their babies. Although this picture isn't much better, you can see the baby a little better (along with its reflection): At this point I have 2 babies. I've never noticed the Rabbit Snails bury themselves, although I've seen them listed as "substrate burrowers". When I get it downloaded, I have another picture to share, of both Selleck (my albino Bristlenose Pleco) and one of my Chocolate Rabbits.

My Chocolate Rabbit has a parasite ! I was able to make a close-up of this photo on my camera, and when it downloaded to my computer it was just below 1MB (a couple others I did this with came out more than 1MB), so I tried posting it, and this version shows much larger. Unfortunately, many of my shots don't lend themselves to me doing this. I only tried with a few since I didn't know how big (KB/MB) they would end up. Angelminx

Recently I've only seen one baby rabbit at a time, so I don't know if I have more than 2 or not. Here is one of them, from yesterday (it's on the back glass, so you can see it from the top): I couldn't measure it, since it was too far away, but I think it's tripled in size (in over a month).

If they're anything like other snails with conical shells (e.g. Malaysian trumpets, assassin snails, others) then they'll burrow in the substrate. You won't always see them "out and about" even though they are there.

Hi Parker, I know they are supposed to, but I haven't even seen the adults do it...of course I may just be missing seeing them in the act . The babies would be harder to catch at it because of their size, and a little bit because of their color/color of the gravel. Angelminx

Back on Dec 11th I caught one of my adult Rabbits munching on my "baby" Red Rubin sword (they've been caught munching on my young Ozelot and Kleiner Bar as well), which has since died, so I moved them all to the 10G right then and there. On the 11th of this month I got some pics of the babies. I don't know how big they are when they are born--rabbit snails are live-bearers--but I saw the 1st baby on Aug 20th and the 2nd on Sept 19th, so now I have 2 adults and 2 "babies". I was finally able to find both babies at the same time, one is just over 2 cm, and the other is ~1 1/2 cm (between 3/4 - 1" and 1/2 - 3/4"). I took this pic when I took them out to measure them [you can't see it in this pic, but they weren't very happy about it--they kept going in and out of their shells, trying to turn over (?)to get away]: This was after placing them back in the tank:

I just downloaded a couple more pics (that I took on the 21st--the 1st one was with flash). The "baby" measured just over 1 1/2 cm (it was ~3/4"), so it was the smaller one, and "Mom" is 3 1/2 cm (~ 1 1/4"). Both adults are bout the same size, but I haven't taken them out to measure them yet...I want to do them both at the same time, but I keep forgetting.
