wow, another build? You just keep pumping them out! You have a good style that you can kinda see with each tank. Thanks for keeping sharing with us. It's cool to see how your tanks progress.

Wow A new tank - awesome.
Why are you getting rid of the Java Fern? Remember I know nothing about live plants. Is Java Fern messy? Does it take over the tank with a fast growing rate? Is it dead?
Maybe someday I will take a try at live plants; but I need to learn so much more about them.
I look forward to your progress with this new tank.
New tanks and tank upgrades are so fun!!!

But wait there will be more *LOL* (quite a few still empty) The java fern is going as it wont be suited to this tank. I am wanting to do higher demanding stem plants in this scape

So we had a major diatom/brown algae thing happening for quite a while. I left the tank alone to sort itself out. The brown got that bad you could not see into the tank at all lol I honestly didn't think it was ever going to level out, but it slowly did. I do not have any pics of the real bad stage, not that you could have seen anything but brown lol Glass has not been cleaned, this is what is came back to Trimmed weed in front of rocks, general tidy up. The Betta has since moved back to his own tank

Glad it bounced back. You think it was just from a new tank cycle? Or was there another reason for the outbreak?

New tank Heater Error (took the tank to 35C) which caused a major crypt melt, before I realised. DIY Substrate - it has to be given settle/mature time
A combination of all 3

Update:
Plants arrived, and have been added. I've also added a school of neon tetras, and will be expanding the school over the next week or so. Also added 3 juvie peppermint bristlenose, and some cherry shrimp
Will update pic once the plants have settled in a bit (stems need to straighten from the packaging)

Beautiful close up pictures! I lover the plecostomus close up, but they are all beautiful, from the Neon Tetras to the Dwarf Gouramis. We are very honored that you share your aquatic "artwork" with us! Carl

Wow this tank has really progressed and the close up pictures are great! I still dream about have schooling tetras, but it would take setting up a new tank to put my more aggressive fish in. One day. All the tanks are coming along fantastically.

So updated pic (The stem plants need a trim, so ignore the straggly bits, they will be fixed up this weekend) I've noticed a few of the neons are missing, normal thing, they are not terribly hardy sadly. Remaining are eating well and look great though. The 2 dwarf gourami are still playing nice, though i think the blue one is the boss. Cherries are multiplying and their colour is really red.

Maturing nicely. I just got a blue dwarf gourami like this one. For my anniversary from my wife. He was a great addition. I've noticed they can get a little bossy, but I have a bigger tiger gourami in the tank who has already took the role as boss, so the baby gourami is very tame. Thanks for sharing again.
