Hi there,
I'm actually not an aquarium owner, but a student who's doing an honours project this summer. It seemed more appropriate to ask my question here rather than email the American Aquarium Products address. My question is about an appropriate mixture of antibiotics to use in a natural marine setting in order to defend against as many bacteria as possible (particularly Vibrio spp., Chlamydia spp., and Rickettsia spp.). This project focuses on juvenile marine invertebrates however, not fish. Would it be best to post this question in the marine aquarium board?
Thank you,
Sam

Yes, this question would be best in a marine aquarium board. This may take much experimentation on your part, since most current studies with Vibrio involve fish I can state that as per one Vibrio treatment; Nitrofurazone, it is NOT safe for invertebrates Reference: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Vibrio_Aeromonas.htmlCarl

Sounds like you have an interesting project on your hands. I'm a student too! What level of schooling is this project for? Kinda sounds college. I know there are people that specialize in disease prevention, so you should be able to get some good help. Best bet is to set up your project design and then come ask some questions. This way there is more direction to the answers that are given. If you can do the leg work, people can fill in the gaps I'm sure.
