Nice picture missdiane. I believe if you add it as an attachment as you have done; one per post is it. You could also host your pictures elsewhere such as photobucket, wordpress, etc. (which is what I usually do), then place multiple pictures in one post by placing the URL of the picture inside the forum code for pictures. Or put more simply clicking on the forth button from the left (second row) above when drafting a post and placing this url there in. Here is a 'picture' screenshot of a picture I added to a recent thread you started: The end result is this: Hope this helps Carl

I use Photobucket and it also provides the capability to use photo thumbnails so that you can link multiple pics in one post but not have them appear full size.
If you'd like a tutorial, I'd be more than happy to assist.

that would be great Parker 002 - I tried the photo section but couldn't figure it out - I think the 60s left me mentally challenged - lol

I use the [/img] brackets like Carl indicated. And I second Parker, Photobucket makes it very easy to add pictures. There's a special text box that you can click and it copies the img URL for you. I hope that helps!

Here's a brief tutorial on how I handle my pictures here. First, you will be using two sets of tags, hyperlink and image. The tags themselves look like this: [url][/url] [img][/img] The hyperlink tag creates a link from here to an external source. For example, I have a picture on my Photobucket account. I can link to it like so: [url]http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg[/url] That produces a hyperlink of text like this: i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpgNow, the hyperlink tag is also extensible. What does this mean? It means that the URL tag itself can accept an argument - a URL - by using the "=" sign. The text that actually appears INSIDE the tag does not HAVE to be a URL. This allows you create links that are more descriptive. An example would be this: Click here for a picture of my fish. The code for that link looks like this: [url=http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg]Click here for a picture of my fish.[/url] The image tag takes an image from an external source and displays a static 1-for-1 copy here. It looks like this: [img]http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg[/img] Here is where it gets hairy. I don't want to actually use that syntax because that picture is 1920x1080, it would take up your whole screen (more, actually) and it really screws up the thread layout of the forum. This is where Photobucket thumbnails come in. Photobucket provides thumbnails automatically. To get the URL of your thumbnail, just add "th_" to the name of the image. So the URL of the thumbnail for the above picture is: i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/th_DSC01289.jpgNote that I just inserted "th_" in front of DSC01289.jpg. I can then enclose that URL in IMG tags to show the thumbnail as an image, like this: Ultimately though, that thumbnail is again a 1-to-1 static image. I want to show the thumbnail here but I want to provide you all the ability to click on the thumbnail and view the original raw photo in it's 1920x1080 glory. For this, we go back to the extensible URL tag. I take that original descriptive link I posted above: [url=http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg]Click here for a picture of my fish.[/url] All I need to do is replace my custom text there with the thumbnail image, enclosed in image tags, like this: [url=http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg][img]http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/th_DSC01289.jpg[/img][/url] That produces a clickable thumbnail and the best of both worlds - a small, manageable image that doesn't mess with the board layout but allows everyone to see the original larger image if they so choose. It looks like this: This ultimately makes posting multiple images very easy.

Nice picture! The plants look great! I use photobucket. Just choose the image code link under the picture on photobucket's site, then paste it here in your text box. I think photobucket resizes images when it uploads them...mine don't usually take up the whole screen. Unless I have a setting somewhere on the forum or in my browser that does... This photo fits right in my reply box. Does it take up your whole screen?

What kind of camera did you take that with? It looks like it might have come from a phone.

Funny. The resolution on that picture is 767x431 on my computer - it takes up less than 1/4 of my screen. If that pic takes up your entire screen, Carl are you running at 800x600 or something? My pics are three times that size.

This is interesting
When I first answered this I was on my home computer, which is set to 1024 x 768
However I am currently in the business office on a computer there set at 1366 x 768 and it appears much smaller
The picture itself shows 767 x 431 pixels as you noted either way

Well, resolution is measured in pixels.
On a monitor running at 1024x768, a 767x431 picture would take up roughly 3/4 of the screen horizontally and just over half of the screen vertically .
On a monitor running at 1366x768, it would still occupy about 1/2 of the vertical space but would only take up HALF of the horizontal space as well. It should appear much smaller on the 2nd screen.
For comparison's sake, I am running this PC at 1680x1050 resolution and my pics I take with the wife's Sony are STILL are too large for my screen because they are 1920x1080.
Now, most of us are viewing pictures directly from the forums and most browsers will resize an image that won't fit on the screen down to whatever the maximum supportable resolution is for any given setup.

OK, I'm going to add a new wrinkle I discovered today.
In the old days, linking directly to a photo that was being stored on Photobucket linked ONLY to that photo. It showed that photo in it's original resolution (aka full size) in it's own browser window and did not allow the viewer to then browse the rest of your pictures in your photo albums.
Photobucket changed this in a recent update, without really letting any of us know they were changing it!
Once logged into Photobucket, go to your name up in the top right-hand corner and click on the little down arrow next to your name - that's a pull down menu and one of the choices is "User Settings".
Select that and then click on the link for "Albums". Towards the bottom of that page is a new setting called "Link Back to Albums" which Photobucket has set to "enabled" by default.
While this feature is turned on, people will be directed to a smaller version of your picture in "album" mode. While this creates a smaller version of the photo, it also allows the viewer to then navigate through all of your photo albums!
If you turn this new feature off, it will go back to the way it was - a direct link to the photo will take the viewer directly to the photo and display it in it's original resolution (aka huge). The viewer will only be able to view that photo and nothing else in your album.
A quick and dirty way to handle this is to change your links.
When this Link Back feature is on, direct links to any of your photos will start with an "s" like this:
http://s431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg With the feature disabled, all links start with an "i" like this:
http://i431.photobucket.com/albums/qq31/htismaqe/aqua/DSC01289.jpg

That is interesting, I did not know Photobucket did this, and a simple change of the URL changes it back
This is similar to something I learned about hosting pictures for Google Blogger
I could not get my pictures to show full size, until I read a post that Google adds a 320 that does not allow for the full size picture to display, but changing this to 1600 fixes the problem

I was hosting my larger pictures or backgrounds elsewhere until I learned this

Beautiful pics MissDiane! The loaches and betta are beautiful and so is the background. Btw, thanks for taking the time to write that tutorial Parker. Though I understand Photobucket and how to post images on here, I believe that tutorial will be an invaluable guide to those who don't. In response to the Photobucket changes, I didn't know that, but it is unfortunate that Photobucket users were not notified and that feature is enabled by default. Renee
