Hi There. I'm an "aspiring aquarist", 19 years old in the pocono mountains, Pennsylvania. I've always had quite the obsession with fish. My entire life. When I was 16 I attempted my first aquarium, a little 18 gallon tank, and experienced a total tank wipeout of my guppies less than a week into my endeavor. I was extremely discouraged, but recently decided to give it another whirl. I just couldn't NOT have an aquarium. I bought a used 27 gallon Oceanic hexagon tank two weeks ago, and already, I have 10 fish darting around that seem to be very happy. However I know I'm bound to have tons of questions on how to keep my tank healthy and thriving. (And probably make tons of errors.) As surfing the net leads to contradicting information and confusion, and I feel as though the guy at my LFS is a little misleading, (more worried about his business than happy fishies,) I much prefer insight and information that comes from experienced fish keepers. I hope you all don't mind a kid with a lot of newbie questions. Thanks in advance, may the force be with you. ;D

Welcome t22493! It is great that you have such a passion for fish (as many people here do). I started here at age 16 (I started keeping fish at age 12). I hope you enjoy it here and learn more about fishkeeping along the way! Renee
