took 112 fish to the store today - walked past an empty pond into a house w/ 2 fishless tanks.....on a more upbeat note, I have never been to this fish store before but had heard good things about it - it's a Mom & Pop operation - their pet store is actually attached to the house, surrounded by outdoor ponds and a horse out back - very sweet people - gave them the web address - may have drummed up some business for you Carl - small operation, about (25) 20 gallon tanks FW, another dozen or so 55 gallon tanks and a couple of monster tanks along w/ at least a dozen 100 gallon SW tanks - she really knows her stuff! she went away last week and her husband took her Wednesday shipment of 45 cichlids and put them all in her 133 - today there were 11 left - oops! she sells her fish at a very decent price! saw mixed guppies for 15 cents - she has PetSmart beat by 33%! she buys from locals as well as from dealers and....she can get me my rams in a weeks notice for $7 - her book listed them as blue rams - are blue rams the same as German blue rams? help me out on this one guys......and I have a very special friend who is setting me up w/ some yellow labs! yes, platyman is trying something different! still have a few left, they are the parents and are old and in good conscience, I couldn't sell them to her as they are over 2-1/2 years old - enough rambling......hope you all have a great day! please let me know of the blue rams!

here is my male ;D when you get them, make sure your tank is ready has the right parameters and is established they're pretty sensitiv to water parameters pH should be anywhere from 7-7.8 temperature can range from 76-84 (the warmer, the less danger of ich) ammonia and nitrite of course 0 nitrAtes, try to keep them below 10, if possible also they love plants and also hidingspots are essential for them as well if you have driftwood, this will help you to keep the pH lower

what kind of driftwood? is cedar ok? thank you both! John I do not think Cedar would work as it has natural bug repellents (& no telling what this could do to fish), but this is just guess (think Cedar Chest/Closet) I prefer high Tannin Drift Wood or Mango Wood which usually come from Maylasia or similar and are naturally found in habitats where fish are found. Such as these: Drift Wood/Mango WoodCarl

Darn, wish i ahs osmeione like that in my area! I can't seem to find many if not any pets stores around me with people even slightly passionate about fish let alone peopel I can give my spawns to! Speaking of that I'd better go on Craigslist to put about 10 guppy fry for sale. lol
