Hey all. not to step on BBG`s toes...but I have a public aquarium album too from this weekend. Had a buddy visit from Calgary and we did the tourist thing. love the Aquarium here. On this album there are other pics as well. there is our donkey "Prince " chasing me...there are the alpacus that share the property....and a very tame racoon. i was a foot away from him. pretty boy for sure. There are a few other pics in there too...just pass by them if my buds and I are too funny lookin....lol. enjoy s160.photobucket.com/albums/t194/bikeguy33/visit%20to%20vancouver%20aquarium%20and%20a%20few%20others/

Boy you've been busy with the camera! Looks like you met R2D2 ;D Are some of the pictures from Vancouver too (the coastal pics) The aquarium you visited appeared to be very diverse with north pacific fauna too, am I correct? Thanks for sharing Carl

all those pics are of vancouver and the aquarium. the donkey i am running with is at my house as is the alpacas. The Vancouver aquarium is huge....in fact, its the largest in Canada. not quite as impressive as the georgia aquarium...but still good. we arre buying season passes for this year.

OK, I misread the first post when I saw "Calgary" and then all the pics appeared to be Vancouver. In re-reading I see it was friend from Calgary
I also finally had a chance to finish viewing all pictures (I only made it half way this morning before I realized I had too much business awaiting me and had to leave your photobucket folders)
I finally saw the Raccoon pictures you noted, he really was a friendly fellow. Most of the Raccoons I encounter would either run or stand their ground and growl, so this guy was rather tame by comparison.

Very nice! I love the bubble things that you can stick your head into to get a nice close up look. The Georgia aquarium doesn't have any outdoors part to it like the Vancouver one. That would be a nice addition. I didn't see any turtles either when we were there and I was surprised by that.
That raccoon being out and about in the middle of the day is weird. He might on his way to being rabid or something!

i dont think rabid....it was at a very touristy place overlooking vancouver and he was being fed by near everyone....he was tame by hunger....very friendly and quite used to people. btw....the small beluga was born at our zoo...one of the few born in captivity...
