i have a method i devised for a clients near 4 foot silver arrowana. he was spooked by a child banging on the glass and it jumped and broke the glass lid.his head was basically seperated into 4 deep wounds equally seperating his head. through treatment the wounds werre healing....but he had no ability to open or close his mouth since it was seperated 4 ways. outside of removing him and using a feeding tube, before a water change i would throw in a huge amount of flake and sinking pellets and simply spook or chase "Ed" into the cloud. we got very little food into him....but it was enough to sustain him for the near 4 month treatment period. this was very stressful on him, but the options were worse. btw, Ed is now very healthy again....all be it, he has a terrible hairlip

no replies, well i guess it's too late for my fish... Sorry for the lack of response and for your fish. Unfortunately outside of the advice given in this thread and the link I provided earlier ( Fish Parasites, Nematodes, Trematodes) there is little more that could be done IMO Carl

it seems that my fish is still holding on somehow.i always put a pellet in his tank and noticed that every morning it'll be missing.he is still responsive to his neighbouring fish.any idea or opinion about this behavior?

My only comment is that this is a sign of a fish that still has some "life" left in him and I would continue to do all you can within your means as long as he is responsive I fully understand Danny, and not just about the aspect of how much you value your fish, but the monetary costs as well. the fish died last week.. i thought he had a chance.i guess it was really too late. also,my girl's flowerhorn also died.she was more than a year old.it was hard for my girl,in fact when it died, she didn't dispose of it,she put it in the fridge.she said she can't throw the fish away.it was sad but a bit funny by the way my girl reacted.hehe!anyways we moved on now, ..although my girl doesn't want new fish yet,a bit traumatized still i guess. bye to our great fish my fish: my gir's:
