there is this red lobster in a LFS here.the owner forgot what species it is.haha!maybe you guys might know.it is red or maroonish..

i would need more of a description then that. by lobster im thinking an actual red lobster would be my first guess.
but if its at a fish store makes me think its just a crawfish or a variety they even come in bright blue...
i would need a picture or more better description to identify it.
you can always snap a picture of it next time your there and put it in the fish identification section as a fun game.

i think it's a red swamp crayfish,since it is a freshwater.haha! how can you if you have a female?it has smaller pincer or claw compared to male?

i think from that photo it is still up in the air as to weather it is a freshwater red lobster or a red swamp crawfish
from the looks of its claws id say a female of either or. as for the identification if it is full grown it is most certainly a large crawfish if not full grown it is most certainly a smaller juvenile lobster.
just watch it for a few more weeks and if it grows you will have your answer.

Although I have not tested salt with crayfish in high quantities of aquarium salt, I have kept crayfish in freshwater with salt at a ratio of one tablespoon per 5 gallons (20 liters) without a problem.
