Hey guys, Sorry I haven't been around again, I've actually been on here lots reading posts and what not, just been too lazy to actually post replies.
So I went to Big Als to get some supplies today and had a little spur of the moment fish want. I saw these powder blue dwarf gouramis and OMG I fell in love with how gorgeous they were, so I picked one up and brought it home to go in my 20 gal.
I don't have a name yet or pics but I will post some as soon as I can. Here's one I found online of what it sort of looks like but mine has a bit more red in the tail and the colors got a little bit of purple in there too.

I picked a name... I decidedd it was a girl since all my fish have boy names and her name is Beatrix Bea for short.

3 yoyo loaches, 4 serpae tetras, 3 pork chops and 2 swordtails, they're all really friendly fish.
Oh but I do have a question, since I am watching the tank alot right now I noiticed one of my serpaes has a white spot on him, like a pimple.... Parasite?

This may be, but it also may be just as you described; a pimple or small sore that is healing up on its own. I would keep a watch on this spot, maybe consider a MB bath or Melafix in the tank, but it is likely this will not be a problem if you keep good water parameters. A pic may help us tell better too. if the top fin is rounded on the end, it's a girl, id it comes to a point, you might have to change "her" name! LOL! I have had them before - they are very beautiful fish - they can become territorial - don't put two males in the same tank unless it's big

Oh hey thanks Murdoch, I'll have to take a look when I go back downstairs.
Only thing is she;'s not looking too great at the moment guys. She's laying on the bottom, I catch her swimming around from time to time, to go up and get air etc. but mostly she lays on the bottom, leaning against the glass. She hasn't eaten anything yet and she's breathing pretty quickly. But theres nothing on her for signs, she looks normal and her color is gorgeous so I am not sure if she's just having a hard time adjusting or what is going on. I acclimated her normally, like I usually do and like you guys say on here, the only thing is I usually take 2 hrs to do it but I had to leave to the airport to pick up my boy and I didn't want to leave her in the bag when I left because I didn't know how long it would take to get back home so I only acclimated her for about an hour and a little bit. I hope that's not the cause for her stress but theres not much I can do but keep an eye out. No pictures yet sorry but this afternoon I will.

Your description possibly fits ammonia poisoning. If so, this lekly did not occur whiel you had it, trather this fish was poorly handled prior to your purchase and was exposed to high ammonia levels. Methylene Blue may help with this in the gills, blood and kidneys. BTW, did I read this post correctly; did you say you had a boy? Carl

I have a medicated wondershell in the tank, I always do when I had new fish. Plus I had methylene in her bag when I acclimated her. But good news shes swimming around alot more so she's improving. Also I have no idea how to tell how rounded the fin should be to sex it, so you guys will have to help me out when I post pics, which I promise to do tonight. And yes carl I have a boy, its a long distance relationship and he's in town to see me for a couple days

I hope your fish continues to improve. I love these guys, they have so much personality. I didn't know that they would spit like an archer fish though, that's really cool.
