I bought some water wisteria (Hygrophila difformis) on Tuesday. I'm planning on removing some of the corkscrew vals from the 30 and adding the wisteria for a change of pace. The Vals have almost been doing too well and I want to break up their appearance with something very different.
From what I've read, water wisteria is a pretty undemanding plant, so I've got my fingers crossed that it will do well for me.
Has anyone here ever tried this plant?

I too have had these, although it has been several years.
I did not find them too demanding other than good lighting and since I have had them lighting technology has grown by leaps and bounds. Since you seem to have quite the green thumb Stephanie (babygeige), I do not see you having trouble at all with this plant.

beautiful plant Steph! my plecos would have a field day w/ that! pH of 6.5 seems well suited for a SA tank

Um...I killed some, does that count? I used it in a tank with a fairly high salt content, and they didn't like that much. I did like the plant though, and would definitely get more.

Thanks for the link Eve, I hadn't seen that one. I was trying to get more info on how far apart to space them and that link actually has a suggestion, so I appreciate that. My plant book says that they do well in well spaced groups of 4 or 5 stems. I think I'm going to go with groups of 3 so they aren't too crowded. I have 9 or 10 stems here.
I've put off planting them since Tuesday. Time to get to work. It's going to take a while... I'll post pictures later today so you can see how they look!
