i tried typing "angelfish".all were good except that it also said that it's ok with blood parrots(hybrids). although blood parrots have deformed mouths which they can barely close and cannot inflict any damage to other fish, they really are persistent fish.they would bug any inferior fish which is very stressful.since angels are slow and blood parrots are strong,i'd say it is not a recommended tank mates.

Compatibility charts are very subjective, with many factors that can make a fish compatible in one instance and not in another. IMO, these are really only useful for a guide Carl

IMO this site did have a good list of fish but not all that I was looking for. I found that www.aqadvisor.com is much more thorough in fish species, compatibility issues and even quantities(schooling fish). It also allows you to put in your tank dimensions and filter capacities to ensure proper filtration. It will also notify you if a fish is going to outgrow your setup and gives suggestions on Hardness, pH and water temp.

Interesting link and concept, but it does not load or work very well The filter drop down is also missing some of the best bio filters Thanks for sharing though Crl

You are definetly right about the filters but I personally didn't have any loading or other issues.

I just looked to see if my fish are compatible, I have 22 corydoras catfish, 8 Tiger barbs, 2 Spotted Leaf fish, 1 red loach. It says that none of my fish are compatible. They seem to get along pretty good. No fight or chasing, fin picking or nipping. Are there other reasons they are not compatible?

Richard This is why I do not publish compatibility charts, as they are at best just a guide, at worst highly inaccurate especially when tank size and numbers are not considered. Sometimes having set of fish (or more) is needed. Often Cories do better in groups of three or more (but again, not always). In marine tanks, two yellow tangs will often fight to the death, but three or more will generally school in a reasonably sized aquarium. As for your fish, I see no reason your fish should not mix, so I am unclear why the guide stated your fish were incompatible Carl

Comes down to personality and how you group them, from my experience.

The only thing that occurred to me was that the Tiger barbs will eat the cory eggs up real fast but they eat their own eggs up as well. The leaf fish will eat anything that will fit in their mouth. Its a fish eat fish world, I can't blame them... I love to eat eggs for breakfast and fish for lunch.

22 corycats! I love it. They are my favorite, but I only have 5 in my 55 gallon, and 3 in my 10 gallon quarantine tank. I will be moving the 3 in my quarantine over to the big tank soon. I have been looking for some Emerald cory's for quite some time. My local Petsmart does usually carry them, but I don't seem to have much luck with their corycats, they tend to get sick. I usually find healthier cory's at Petco. But, they always have their bronze cory's listed as Emeralds. I try to explain to them the difference between the two, but most employees are convinced if it says Emerald cory's, then that's what they are. Do you have a pic of your 22 cory's? I would love to see them all playing together!

My Emerald Cory's just breed this morning, I happened to be there for the whole ritual and was able to clip a leaf that was filled with eggs to put in a hatchery. Mother Emerald also laid eggs in other places but the Tigers where following her around so I don't know if any more will survive. They all come to me in the mornings to be feed so I will get some pictures of them chowing down. I Have Emeralds, Peppered, Julii, Sterba's Corydoris Catfish Richard PS I uploaded photo's in the Tank Bloggs form, childofiam 75 gal tank

I saw your pics in the tank blogs. I tried to look for your cory's, I think I only saw one or two. Maybe better shots of them at feeding time. I don't have an iPhone, I take pics with my camera, and when I try to attach it to a thread, it always says the file is too big. Maybe because it's a camera and not a phone? I am not very tech savy. I don't use photo bucket and such. Not sure how else to attach my pics. I have some beautiful shots on my camera. Would love to share them with everyone.

Coco, a photobucket or similar account is relatively easy to set up IMO Here is a tutorial from memeber parker: everythingaquatic.proboards.com/thread/3331/pictures-friendsThe other method is to use the Add Attachment Button on the right upper corner of standard Create Post template (not quick post) We pay a fee every month for this feature, so please feel free to use it and make it worth our fee! You can compress the photos in your camera or on your computer, before uploading to the forum.

Devon, I will have to have someone show me how to do that. I am not very tech savy, and know the bare minimum about computers. I should really learn how to do more.

Carl, I have tried that attachment button and it said the file was too big every time I tried. I will read that link you sent me when I get back. I have to go run some errands. I will try to play with things when I get back.
