Ok, I went to my first club auction today, I had a lot of fun and am very excited about what I got... I got 2 pairs of P. rock kribs... Paralabidochromis sp. "Rock Kribensis" (Mwanza Gulf)
I then got a group of 6 fry of the Placidochromis Phenichilus.
These guys will someday be phenominal!!!
I am just so excited. I also picked up a group of 4 adult albino bristlenose plecs. I got a GREAT deal on ALL these fish as they were towards the end of the day.

The rock kribs are actually good sized...3" males and almost the same for females...$11 for 1 pair and $15 for the other. The Pheno's were $18 bucks for 6 1" fry, which I thought was a great deal because the other group earlier in the day sold for $ 50 something for the same sized group. The group of 4 bristlenose 3" I got for $10 bucks!!!! I thought I did great as I have seen higher prices for smaller fish.
Oh, also the rock krib males were very nicely colored even in the bags, so I can't wait to see them after in the tank for a bit.

Congrats Brenda. They sound like some really good fish. Do you have any pictures of them? I'd be more than happy to see them.

Awesome bargains! I especially would like to see pics of the plecos. I'm thinking of picking up albino bushynose for my 38g eventually.

Congrats Brenda! Great deals I especially like the Rock Kribensis, in part because they are new to me and I like seeing fish I know little about, as when I think of Kribensis, I think of the more common West African Kribensis which I have kept (& bred), but not these Victorian Beauties. Carl

Ok, here is a couple pics of the rock kribs...The first appears to be more of a sub dom... This is what the females look like...What is nice about them is they are actually a pretty yellow rather then the blah silver of most vic females. This guy appears more dominent...Notice how he has the checker board pattern. Finally for kagome a pic of the bristlenose..They are real easy to photograph...I'll try to get better ones.

Those are some seriously gorgeous fish! I love the colors on the rock kribs. I really like the look of the plecos as well. I think they are making the short list for my considerations for an algae eater in my 38g.

I find it really odd how close the females look to female Fulu. I bet their genetics are really close.

Aren't the female fulus silver? These females are a vibrant yellow almost orange color. Or are you just referring to the barring?

They all appear to have a slight gold/yellow to them Brenda, and at first I had to double look at your pics because I was like wow, that looks like my fish. They aren't kribs, and can't be because I've seen a few females having eggs in the mouth. Maybe as the female mature they lose the golden/yellowish type look? I dunno. I've got to clean up the tank and go out to the house, exchange some fish tonight so I'll try to get some better pictures of what I'm talking about later.

Yeah, get some more pics. I will try to get more too as I have seen some females that are a goldish color but these are almost a bright mustard color with a hint of an orange sheen as well. So I will try to get some more pics that show the color better.
Have you had any fry yet from your Fulu’s or Zebra’s?

Zebra failed last time out, but I have one with a BIG FAT mouth right now, and I now have a make shift "egg tumbler" set up, so if I take her too early again, this time I can at least save the fry. I also have a Kenyi holding going into 2nd week now, about 3 more Flavus females, and the Taiwan Reef Albino spawned yet again this weekend! Funny though, that male, shows no interest what so ever with the regular TR females.
The Fulu's I think they failed again Brenda, not sure. I had one with a nice big mouth but now I don't see that as much. I'm hoping she just lost a few. Once I can move that Jardini out, I'm going to put the Fulu in the main tank, this should improve things. I'll be getting my Astatilapia Aeneocolor's in either this week or next. The seller ran out of boxes then on vacation so should be first week of April. Don't know if that means today or next week, but I got a steal, 7 total for 55.00.

Ok Jon..Here is a little bit better pic. Hopefully, it shows the female isn't goldish she is dark yellow.
