Jon, that sounds terrific! I appreciate you thinking of Aqua Havens. I think that will be a wonderful addition to their collection.
I would hate to put a mouthbrooding species in a tank of that size...only because I would have a hard time catching a holding female out of that tank. I have 125's, and don't always attempt to catch the holding females, for that reason.

I thought of you the other day Barb. There was an article about skiffia livebearers in TFH and the author mentioned that he is working with CARES (along with other groups) to help preserve them.

Awesome! I haven't picked that copy up yet, but I'm planning on doing it today.
CARES is about all at risk fish species, but I specialize in the Victorians. I really don't know much about at risk livebearers, or anything other than Victorians. I need to get better educated on those species.

Thanks to the generosity of the Hill Country Cichlid Club, and to Dave Schumacher, of Dave's Rare Aquarium Fish, I am pleased to inform you all that 8 species of Victorian cichlids were delivered yesterday to the Aqua Havens facility in Fullerton, Maryland.
The species that were donated were:
Haplochromis sp. "Ruby" Xystichromis phytophagus (2 lines) Pundamilia nyereri "Igombe Island" Astatotilapia latifasciata Xystichromis sp. "Dayglow" Mbipia cf. Lutea Pyxichromis orthostoma Enterochromis sp. "Red Back Scraper"
This is truly an occasion for celebration.

This is awesome Barbara and it really shows what a truly incredible club you belong too. (hey, I guess I belong to it as well..Yay for me ;D) The people in this club genuinely care about helping to promote and save these endangered species...And to donate fry of the species they do is more then generous. Some of these species are very hard to come by and for them to just donate them to a cause really shows the dedication of these people yourself included. I tip my hat to all of you involved and hope I too can be a part of this in the near future.

Thanks Brenda. I'm really proud to be a part of both the HCCC and the CARES for Education team.
We have a new outreach school. World Cultures Magnet School in St. Paul, MN has joined us in the CARES for Education program.
