no the water isn't turning that color. i was just wondering. because it seems to be a safe aquatic paint, and if i have to coat my metal brackets if i get metal brackets i need a safe aquatic paint.

brass, copper or aluminum wouldn't require paint in fresh water as far as I know....

does anyone know what kind of paint they use on the colored gravel? Most aquatic gravels are epoxy coatings with color, not a true paint. There are also "natural colored" gravels as well see: Aquarium answers; GravelCarl
