You should probably go and get them. Pretty hard to acclimate fish with just a plastic cup.

you could use an empty 1 gallon plastic milk container with the top cut away, leaving the handle so you can add and remove the fish safetly - will try and find Carl's video.....

i would say you are probably ready to transfer the gourami to his new home. he is quite hardy compared to the rest of the movable list and he will help cycle the tank a lil quicker. to achieve the cycling....you need bio matter. after the 2 sharks(minnows) a week ago.....i feel from your readings it is close. try to get your ph down a lil. its quite high. what are your local water supply readings???

as long as they're all good with it, don't play around with it stable pH is more important then the right pH you can bring it down naturally, instead with chemicals, which do more harm then good anyway you can add a piece of driftwood, or peatmoss into your filter to lower your pH if that's your desire to do so

nope im good with where its at. 8.6 is soo high that its actually cheaper to keep it at that and since my tap water is also 8.6 then its just simpler to maintain just need to use water conditioner and thats it.
soo i take a gallon and use that to do the acclimation?
ill start transfering the gourami as soon as i get the proper instructions.
thanks

cut off top leave handle on the gallon
fill it with my 10 gallon water about 1/2 full.
place which fish im transfering into the gallon.
then take 1/2 cup of water from new tank every 15 minutes.
do this for 1 hour - 2 hours. then release and repeat process with new fish?

yep that's it
you can do it every 15 min though as well if you want
make sure whatever you use, that it's rinsed well and doesn't have any residue from whatever was in the bottle

ok so we took the gourami and put him in the milk jug with the top cut off and then we put the guppies in the ten gallon tank and the male guppy started like attacking the female guppy with his little male part going sideways at her....so we think they are trying to breed but arent to sure??
but the funny thing about all of this is...james and i where trying to act like the guppies because we thought it was kinda funny..and his big foot stepped on our 28 gallon lid! and guess what he did?! HE FLIPPING BROKE IT!!! soo we have to get a brand spanking new lid for the tank. its awesome! lol we thought that was funny and had to share with everyone!
*eve will still keep you updated on how the transfer goes!*
also what is the price for a new glass hood?!
thank you
