great article Carl! I printed this one out and am sure it will help in my new tans, albeit, the cichlids I'm starting w/ are very similar in their requirements to platys and everyone here knows my "success" w/ those little buggers - a must read!

Calcium is definietly importanty in FW as you mentioned. People should know that fish need calcium for strong bones too. lol I have calcium deposits like carzy in my 4 1/2 year old 10 gallon. XD And then I'm always struggling to keep the GH, KH, and PH steady because of my tapwater. lol I'm pretty sure that there's a correlation about KH, GH, and Ph but I'm not totally sure. lol
