I bought new goldfish about 3 weeks ago and they brought ick with them along with another parasite. At first I noticed just ick by some white dots (very few) and jerky movements of the fish. I performed a 2 week treatment consisting of 3 days of QuICK Cure followed by 11 days of Paraguard (as I read it is safer). The fish is feeling much better, but now I found another parasite on them that looks like a single gray scale on the body. I thought it was fungus, but grayish. Today I scraped one from the tail of my black telescope. The scale sucked onto my nail, refusing to be removed onto a microscope glass. I flushed it with a drop of water onto the glass and looked at it in the microscope. I drew it, here it is, meet the unknown parasite: imgur.com/a/8ierWm7

My daughter got a brilliant idea, we can take a picture right in the microscope! No need to draw. Here it is: imgur.com/a/SV2nxxj

It's fish lice. I googled for fish parasites pics, and looked for a similar picture. What is a safe treatment? Possibly the one that doesn't harm plants and snails? But I can also remove snails for the treatment. How long is their life cycle? Could it have been helpful that I treated water with Paraguard, maybe not for grown up parasites, but for their eggs? So far I've seen only two parasites (on two different fish), and yesterday I physically removed one. May be it's the only one, because I don't see any on the other fish.

How do they spread? Can they grow under fish skin?
I just noticed a bump on one of my goldfish, like something is UNDER the skin, making this place lighter (skin stretched?) and protruding outside creating a very noticeable bump. Here is a video. On its left side, on the orange part there is a light orange bump

This is so frustrating... I've added about 4 videos for the last month, and they all were unavailable as I now understand. I'll try to edit privacy settings... there should be two videos above, one for the fish lice, and one for the fish with a bump.

This is not likely caused by a fish louse (although your other video was clear as to being a fish louse), rather an infection under his epidermis Carl
