Thank you. I hope I get a pair out of them, or that there all females and they continue to get along. Either way works for me. I’ve got a tank waiting for them if they pair up.

I wish there was a way to sex them before they start breeding. Then you could have a single-sex tank and not have to worry about some pairing off and attacking the rest of them. I love angels but have only ever kept them in pairs because I was worried they would grow up and destroy all the other angels in the tank. But, since you have another tank for them to go into, you can have the best of both worlds.

I wish the same thing but since you can’t I just buy more than I want to keep and as they grow up I move them around as needed. When I have a problem with one in particular I just sell them back. They breed angel fish there and I usually get what I paid or more. i finally have two that get along in my 45 gal. Tank and they act like they might be paired up but I need to get the water parameters straight for them to breed.

Oh nice. None of the LFS here will take fish back, much less buy them back.

Yes, it’s nice. They give 50% of what they will resell them for ( in store credit ) so if I buy small angels and let them grow until I decide which ones I want to keep there usually worth twice what I paid so I get what I paid for them. They take used tanks and fry once there a 1/2” or so. There a family run business and I’ve never Gotten a sick fish from them. None of there tanks are connected and they use a fresh net every time they get fish out..

I was looking at this post and thought I would do an update. Unfortunately the only angel fish that survived was the blue vail. The two orange koi had come from a group that was sick and almost all died so they were always sickly and the solid orange injured his eye and had to be put down. I have four more now from the ones I breed last year and I just rearranged the tank because it had become overgrown.
