Greetings,
I'm getting ready to setup my UV. I'm more or less running it as shown in your picture below.
Is there any reason why the UV can't be rotated 90 degrees so the mounting screws are pointed at the bottom of the display tank, and then 90 degrees again so the inlet is pointing to the left, and the outlet to the right? I want to mount it to the bottom of my stand over the top of the sump. The flow is still horizontal thru the UV and this position eliminates multiple 90 degree elbows shown in your picture. The sump has five divided chambers. The supply pump to the UV will be in the second after water filtration through the first. The return line will run into the last chamber where the DT return pump is. Any problem with that set up?
Thanks. Mike

It will work, the only disadvantage is losing maybe a watt of UV power, because there's a top part of the lamp that will not be underwater. It won't make a big difference.

thanks for the reply Devon. Why will there be a part not underwater? It's more or less like a tunnel, yes? Won't all the air be forced out?

thanks for the reply Devon. Why will there be a part not underwater? It's more or less like a tunnel, yes? Won't all the air be forced out? Because, if you flip it like that, the outlet is below the top part of the lamp, so the lamp sticks a bit out of water as the water leaves the outlet.
