OMG: look at the size and cumbersome nature of the step-down converter required for the new TMC sterilizers! Obviously, TMC has decided upon a sales reduction strategy by eliminating themselves from the American market. Too bad, I like the old model I have and wanted to buy a new one. NO WAY with the new complexity. Do you have a UVS offering that is built for the US market?

This just adds one more layer.
While I do disagree with how TMC has responded, this problem was not of their making, it was decided by the USA government with and executive order in 2014 banning magnetic ballasts.
This all said, they have made a North American market Vecton 600, which works for all but the smallest aquariums (such as under 20 gallons)

Also, this is not a TMC converter. There may be other converters that are smaller or less cumbersome. AAP choose this converter as there's different qualities of convertors and we wanted a quality converter, not something of less quality.
I understand what your saying... still a quality sterilizer that just can't be bet for the price, so it still worth it. Something comparable would be double the price.

Oh, if the 600 is 120V, $30 extra isn't bad, especially for more killing power.
