What do you know that causes discus to dash around the tank very fash? I've seen it from losing o2 in the tank. Or when one is being picked on. Assuming your temp is good or no sudden change in water chemistry. I wouldn't think that would be your issue.

Thanks Devon. I have a spray bar that moves water across the surface to break the water surface and two air stones as well. I did a O2 test this morning and it shows 8 ppm. I have chocked down my water filtration from 150 gph to 90 gph. A few days ago I did a substraight cleaning on the 1/2 in of pf sand in the tank and had raised the filter flow to 150 gph and for got to slow it back down. I realized this last night and backed it back down to 90 gph and everything seems to be fine this morning so far. I have been reading on Simply Discus forum that Discus Dashing is due to stress. I have removed all of the natural drift wood and live plants from the tank and replaced it with fake drift wood and silk plants as well as replacing the sand. I had no idea how much dirt was in the tank until I started to take the drift wood out to clean in and do a Hydrogen peroxide 4 to 1 bath. The bucket boiled for a good hour before slowing down to fizzing.
In doing all of this I had moved everyone to the BB tank for a week and then just recently moved them back. This dashing started about 3 or 4 days after the move so I think that I put them all in a stressful situation. With the planted tank my TDS always ran 200 to 220 but now it runs around 90 ppm.
Anyway I also noticed that my air stones had slowed down so I turned them up more.
Richard
PS I'm sorry that I have not been on much. Fred is getting worse with no lung movement now and having a hard time keeping his O2 above 80. I also recently found out that my son Christopher went back to Afghanistan with a private security company after he gave his daughter up for adoption. It is hard to keep my chin up, most days I just want to crawl in a hole and close the door. You would think that spending 9 out of 12 years on a battlefield, being shot once and blown up in a Humvee twice would be enough for anyone.

I have another question. My RO storage tank is 12 feet from the tanks. I need a pump that will lift water through a 1/2 in PVC line 8 feet high and then 12 feet across the room before dropping down to where the the tanks are. Which pump do I need?

I was thinking some type of stress. Sounds like your tracking it down.
That's tough about your son. Must be looking for comfort. I hope he knows Jesus. Yes, Carl and I will pray for you, Fred, wife, and son. I understand wanting to hide in a hole. Just have to kick those evil thoughts. Depression is unfair.

I am doing a MB bath on all the fish in a 4 gallon bucket because I can put a heater it to keep temp same as tank as well as a air stone. I have noticed my Roseline sharks have been scratching the last couple days and Jack still has a grayish look to him like the picture on the link.
Can the black loach be treated with Methylene blue?

Yes, MB is fine for Loach. Well... I could not catch the little suckers even though I took every thing out.
