Here are a couple of tips I've discovered earlier this summer:
1) I got tired of trying to measure out Prime during a water change (since I was usually only treating the new water, in a 2 gallon bucket) since I didn't need "cap-fulls" at a time. When I was at Dollar Tree in late May, while I was just looking around, I stumbled across a 3-pack of travel bottles, 2 of which have the type of cap where you push on the top edge to pop it open . . . the caps fit the Prime (and probably other Seachem bottles, just haven't checked) perfectly! It is so much easier to dose a smaller amount this way !
2) I started a "garden" this year (Housing had to take down a dead tree by my apartment, so I put a raised bed kit around the stump). Since "used" aquarium water is supposed to be good for plants (and the plants were young), and I didn't want to just dump the buckets over them (and can't use the faucet yet) I have been using a Fiskars watering can. I like it because there is a pour spout in the adjustable (or removable) sprinkling head, however there is only a small offset opening in the top of the can, making it hard to fill from a bucket. I thought about the outdoor tables with the "sink" in them, since they have a "hose" under the drain that could guide the water into the can . . . too expensive. So I started looking around, and found the Igloo 20 qt Party Bucket. It works great ! I place the party bucket on a folding chair a little ways past my front door, then I empty the 1st bucket of water into it. I go back to working on the aquariums while the muck settles; then when I have another bucket ready, I take it out side, then start draining the party bucket into the watering can. By the time it is "empty", I can dump in the next bucket of water, and go back to the tanks . . . .
