We are a family here at Everything Aquatic & once you join you will have access to other non aquatic boards to share and make friends
We are the ORIGINAL/TRUE “Everything Aquatic” forum board created in 2005 and sponsored by Aquarium keeping "guru" Carl Strohmeyer based on his decades of experience and research (do not be fooled by the copycat forum board/store created around 2012 out of Medford OR and promoted by a broken Google Algorithm)
Our Mission at Everything Aquatic: help aquarium keepers by providing accurate science based information and helping people educate themselves through our library of articles.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
Or please consider a donation, even just $5 helps. If even 25% of users of this information donated just $5, it would be more income than one year of sales (currently less than 1/1000 of a % donate)
As our main Sponsor, AAP, generates almost no income for its owner as pressures from Amazon & others has decreased margins to less than 7%
Or think of it this way; most persons would not go to a full service restaurant and not leave a tip. Even if you walked into PetCo or any other "brick & mortar" retail establishment and they helped you with a question such as your sick fish, most would not leave without a purchase. Yet our stats software now shows that 99% of our information users no longer support this information monetarily!

Hey! A bit about myself. I had a few tanks when was younger, tried a reef about 13 years ago (almost made it too), grow my own for medical reasons, now have a small tank with a garden in it. The reason I mention growing my own is that I think there are a lot of similar things. Growing in an enclosed controlled environment and keeping animals and plants in a tank are both attempts to create an environment that allows the inhabitants to flourish. I have had a 10 gal tank for several years with some guppies. They were happy, I was happy, things were simple and fairly regularly maintained. Then I decided I wanted to create a small "biome". Not strictly adhering to anything specific but a small group of plants and animals that would co-exist and Oh heck I don't know at this point... So to bring this around, I found this through the blogs and informative articles. They all made sense to me and seemed like what I needed to complete my "dream". So here I am. It is my hope that I have found a good constructive atmosphere for my aquatic explorations as I have for my indoor cultivation. Peace, BillyK
Welcome to a great place to learn Billyk.... I have been working on the same thing. A 37 gal. cube tank, will be posting pictures in the tank blog section. Looking forward to seeing your tanks....

Thanks Appreciate the welcome. I'll be posting soon with my first questions and stuff like that. Speaking of that, I was of the mind to start a bit of a journal as I am used to calling it, where I can post about my journey of putting my little world together. Where should I start such a thing?

AAP is the only full service/professional retailer of this line of lights in North America. BEWARE of a parasite retailer selling clearance product with no support that Google's corrupt search engine sadly brings up!
