Paradigm Food going out of business?

So, the word on the street is that Paradigm is no longer in production of their fish food... I wanted to address what's going on after having some lengthy conversations with one of the creators of Paradigm.

Long story short, the business model Paradigm had in place did not work and production of their food has stopped, with no real intent to bring it back to the hobby...

As some may or more than likely may not know, Paradigm was modeled around AAP's (Carl's) Quality Fish food article, plus with an expert who really loves and has an understanding of what fish really need.
AAP Quality Fish Food

Since AAP was indirectly so involved with Paradigm (receiving some of the first test batches as well as being an original seller), we decided we could not let the Paradigm food concept go off the market. Simply put it's the Best Fish Food in the World and as health goes, it's just what this hobby/industry needs for long lasting life's of fish!

AAP has now directly paired up with the cook/original creator of the ingredients and methods that went into this food and we will now be producing our own (even better) premium fish food! This is very exciting new for us and the fact this food wont be off the market is huge for the hobby.

So, as of this week, AAP will be having 100 lbs of the best fish food (AAP Custom) in the world shipped to them and we'll be getting it packed up and out to the hobby. Honestly, we expect to sell out this 100 lbs in a matter of a couple of weeks. We'll keep this food in full production, because as Paradigm proved, there's a demand for it.
Clay along with Carl also felt there was some room for improvement, in particular around protein optimization, so the new AAP Custom formula has made changes here. As time goes on this formula will likely be improved even more.

So, get it out there... that AAP has exclusively the best fish out, with no supplements and no wheat fillers!

We now have some of the first "test batches" of the even more premium new food from Clay (the original inventor of Paradigm)

These are only being sold in small 2 oz bags for now

The large batch is in the process and should be completed in a a few weeks

Once shipped to us, it will take a week to get here and then a day or so to pack

The food is due today! A couple mill issues later, hipcup here, hipcup there and now it's smooth sailing. Should be up on the site after we get it in!

This new food is a collaboration between the original developer of the formula used in Paradigm (which also had roots in my Fish Nutrition article and discussions here at EA).

We are excited about getting this fully in stock, as it will easily be the best general fish food anywhere!

We received the new AAP Custom Fish food but for one box

Unfortunately UPS lost the main box of Omnivore, so we do not yet have the 8 oz size as yet. We may have to pay to have this made once more

I will add to Devon's opening post since rumors are flying and some have even accused AAP of stealing Paradigm
Nothing is further from the truth

Paradigm is simply the legal name of the LLC between Clay N and other investors.
The formula is by Clay as well he was the only "cook" for the product.

Some history,;
Clay has been making fish food since at least 2009, long before Paradigm was founded. He consulted with me and others, including here on this formula for some time before he founded what would become Paradigm Fish Foods. He also referenced my Fish Nutrition article in these discussions

Clay also wrote several articles for Everything Aquatic, so it is safe to say that EA is his home forum at the time this food was originally launched.

Once the food was branded, we were also the source of the original promotions (this also shows up in Google searches to this day). Our widely read Fish Nutrition article software stats showed it was a major source of original interest in the product. Promotion, here (EA), and in other blogs I sponsored were also the original source of interest prior to the marketing driven by the marketing partner came about.

Later, after the food was launched, we were an original seller, but as the company tried to expand too quickly, we were no longer able to sell the food for a few months we worked so hard to aid in development and promotion. We also found it for sell in discounters such as eBay rather full service retailer.
Our last order, we asked for all stock left, yet somehow more was found and is now being sold under priced and under agreed upon manufacturer/retailer agreements

Most persons seemed to have been told another story, so are therefore totally in the blind of what has happened and the history of this food as it relates to me, this forum, and AAP

Finally, and very noteworthy, we have changed and improved the formula, so it is not longer the same exact formula (but better)

Sadly places such as Ken's Fish who jumped on the Paradigm band wagon after all the work Clay primarily put into this food along with feedback, input, and testing from me and others, was quick to violate the MAP pricing, then next think you know, we could not even get Paradigm for months! Now they are involved in trying to duplicate the formula! Very shady IMHO.

However as you noted, the amounts of ingredients are essential, as well limiting of protein as we have done with the updated formula by Clay is also essential.

The drying process is also key.
I know when I experimented with foods myself many years ago, I found better results with a dehydrator over the use of high heat in ovens, yet this is how most all other foods including copy cats are making their foods.

What is also sad is some respected online marketers of aquarium products such as "My Aquarium Box" have bought into the lies IMHO with comments such as this: "however, your marketing efforts appear to be drafting off the downfall of paradigm"
This clearly shows either an a lack of knowledge (either intentional or by failure to educate themselves) of the history of this product.
I know they have read this forum post and this point I made earlier discounts their point:

So "My Aquarium Box" decided after we purchased additinal food, packing. labels to pull out, which IMO is highly unprofessional.
Considering they are promoting the Deep Blue Sponge Filters which are clearly infringing on the patent of the ATI Hydro Sponge modular design speaks volumes IMHO.
