This is a male African Leaf Fish. Right behind his eye you can see eyelashes, males have these and are much larger than females. This is the female, much Darker and no eyelashes. This is a Otocinclus macrospilus AKA Oto... we call him Otomobill. More to come Attachments:

I like your leaf fish. Very different. I don't believe I have seen those in the LFS. I have 2 Angels, 3 Pearl Gourami's, 5 true Siamese algae eaters, 1 false SAE, 5 cory cats, & several otto cats.

They are fun to watch eat. I feed them red wiggler worms as well as blood worms. Every once in a while a red wiggler will pop his head out of the sand in front of one of these guys and bam... sand goes flying as the red wiggler got caught. I have a worm farm for scrap vegetable recycle... free renuable fish food! The Full grown worm is about 1 1/2 in to 2 in long, small worm is 1/4 long. The Tigers and Cory's like the small ones.

Carl The worms come from Canada, you can order them on line from composting sights, eBay, Amazon.

This is one of the sites that I went to to learn how to compost with worms. If you are interested in doing this... I would wait till spring to order worms because of the cold temps.

I love how the leaf fish have almost a prehistoric look to them. They are definitely on my fish "bucket list". About how long are yours? I can get red wigglers year round down here in Florida. I'm really thinking about setting up a worm farm in the greenhouse. What do you do to get your worms through winter? Of course, it's A LOT milder down here but it can freeze here nonetheless.

I'm really thinking about setting up a worm farm in the greenhouse. What do you do to get your worms through winter? Of course, it's A LOT milder down here but it can freeze here nonetheless. The mature worms are about 4 inches, it is the smaller ones that I feed. The ALF eat 2 inch worms and my Tigers like the half inch worms. I have a worm farm inside my home pictured below. There is no smell if you know how to care for them indoors, they like temps in the 60-70 degree range. Right now I have 4 worm ball communities in their house, thats about 4000 worms. Two worms can produce up to 1000 worms a month depending on how much you feed them. In the Spring I move a lot of the winter worm growth to the pond outside and to a organic peat compost bead in the garden. You won't lose them because they don't like dirt so they stay in the peat and feed on the veggies and veggie plants leaves.

I can give you an authorship login www.everything-aquatic.com/Carl I would be interested in doing this. My worm farm is starting to get old and I was planning on getting a new farm to transfer my worms to. That would be a great time for me to do this. If you would like, I can send you Red Wiggler Worms this spring when it warms up for a farm of your own. Thanks Carl Richard
