I remember Ash from Eve's link and yeah, she was a really good keeper of Mbuna and I can see why she wrote that up. I just honestly never read any of the articles located at FC is all, but yeah that is a good option post I have to say. Before I read up and applied the shells that you offer Carl, crushed coral was high on my list, just as UV is now, but procrastination always kills things. I haven't personally tried Limestone, but heard good things about that too. I think Texas Holey Rock also is supposed to be a good slow dissolving rock, correct me if I'm wrong on that one.
I think what makes the whole post a positive, not negative or divisive is that, having numerous options to choose from makes the objective easier to achieve. That the asker or those viewing the tread can find what will work best for them to solve their problem. The more options you have, I think the better it is for the one having the issues.
Everyone also has their own way of analyzing and extracting what they see out of information as well. For example, as a good number of us in EA keep cichlids of different types, I might have a plan how to keep a certain group of fish, that on paper would look very difficult if not impossible. I could write out how I lay my tank out and post pictures of how I cope with aggression in my set up, yet Eve, Bike, or Ed could take a look at my information, and come up with yet another way incorporating things from my set up, and have it work as well too.
This whole group seems to be rather dynamic enough to have supplimental information posted to best solve a situation without having heated debates or arguments over who's right or wrong because as I said before, that really doesn't matter as long as the problem itself is solved. Good posts by all and very constructive is what I see.
