I think this is a good point.
Often for me, I simply did not have the time to re-generate the Purigen, especially with so many clients to get to in a day.
It was simple business decision that at the end of the day did not pencil out to do when time was compared to any moneys saved

It really is dead simple. Takes very little actual interaction time, and isn't time sensitive even then, just minimums. Below is the process that takes only 15 minutes of "interaction time" that I've used several times once I got the bleach thing sorted out. Like everything else, patience is key to having this work successfully, going longer by a day doesn't really matter for either the bleach or prime steps.
How To, FAR more steps than needed, but this is idiot proof, since I can do it:
Step 1: Collect all of your used Purigen bags, don't bother unless you have at least two due to cost of Prime. Procure 1qt or 1gal container, depending on how much you have to recharge, with lid (preference).
--5 to 180 minutes depending on organizational skillsStep 2: Fill container with 50% NEW or FRESH, Splash free, non-bubbling bleach, and 50% Water (any water will do), and all your purigen.
--5 minutesStep 3: Place in area you don't mind smelling of bleach. I'm using "Crystal Concentrated Bleach" which works just fine.
Step 4: Wait at least 8 hours, I go 24 or more, with shaking it a bit randomly when walking past or thinking of it, hence the lid on the container.
--2 minutes total Step 5: After the 8+ hours is up, dump out bleach, rinse container and purigen in running water (any kind will do).
--5 minutes Optional Step 5a: Let purigen sit in rinse water for an hour or two if if/when you are interrupted from getting to step 6....
Step 6: Prime, Lots of Prime, 3 tablespoons per cup (8 oz) of water. This is the reason saving up a bunch of dirty ones is more economical.
Step 7: Put purigen into prime and water, or the other way around.
--5 minutes Step 8: Set in a place you don't mind stinking like Prime for 8+ hours, I usually go overnight or more, shaking when near. Let soak for at least as long as Purigen soaked in Bleach.
-- 1 minuteStep 9: Once time is up, Rinse well in tap water. Rinse in aquarium refill water same as Step 5a if different from tap.
Step 10: Put purigen into airtight ziplock bags. PURIGEN MUST REMAIN MOIST OR WET, otherwise the beads crack. Let sit overnight.
--2 minutes total Step 11: After 8 to 24 hours, open ziplock or two and smell for bleach in a different area than the steps above were performed. If any Chlorine scent, redo the Prime soak (step 6), can be a lower concentration of Prime.
You are done. Step 11 is a safety that I always perform, and haven't found it necessary to redo the Prime when I let it sit overnight and don't rush it.
At the end, the Purigen will look whiter than the tan that it starts with, but as it is recharged and re-used (easiest with the pre-filled bags), it will darken sooner and sooner, roughly half a week less when it lasts for a couple months to start. Takes about 5 recharges to reduce life noticeably.
