I personally have not used these new Pro models, but I am very familiar with the still sold "classics".
My opinion, is to utilize the less expensive classic Eheim, SunSun, Filstar, etc., then use the saved money in diffence of price to purchase a FSB Filter. As one thing I am sure of from using many different canister filters, including many Fluvals, is these larger models still do not come close to FSB Filter bio load capacity and the I have found that running a FSB filter with a good, reliable, but economical canister filter has always proven to be the better option.

I tend to agree. I've only used Classics myself. However I can't justify shelling out damn near $400 dollars for a single filter...other than the Classic 2262. Look at the Super Jet filters that ADA sells and the knockoffs you can buy on Ebay. They look fantastic but that's about it. I could see "expensively" using one for water movement on a small planted show tank, but an actual stocked aquarium with fish and plants it would fall short...badly. You'd even have to add your own Eheim doubletaps to service the darn thing.
