I'm a patient man but sometimes little things drive me to the point of wanting to throw the sofa out the window. Suction cups failing to keep suction on the aquarium wall is one of them. Even after making sure the wall and cups are clean of algae and slime they still fail...
Anyone have any tips to reconstitute suction lol?

Carl, believe me, I use those Zoomed magnetic clips whenever/wherever I can. Love those things. I wish there were other size offerings. Something to hold small pumps or powerheads would be great. I thought about using aquarium silicon to affix a magnet to the back of a powerhead to try out the idea...

Make sure that if you are going to put a magnet in the tank that is completely encased - waterproof - in a non-reactive material like PVC plastic. Otherwise the magnet will corrode and release metals into your water. That all being said, if you figure out how to make them, let me know. I have one set of Zoo Med magnets but they're expensive and like you said, they don't come in enough sizes.

Parker I bought my magnets from this place: www.kjmagnetics.com/blog.asp?p=aquariumNot terribly expensive given that you'll spend 20-30 bucks for the Sure Grip holders which are overkill in most cases. I do own one though. Another consideration in my mind would be enough protection of the pump's motor from the magnet...depending on the type and strength... Mike

Nice find. Could probably get 8-10 of those magnets for the cost of one ZooMed kit.
