Sorry if you lost a fish during the cleaning, I know this can be hard to do when tiny fry are hiding in your tank. One thing I have done is tanks with uncared for fry such as Platties is to siphon/Vacuum into a bucket rather than directly out of the tank via Python type device (I have never used the actual Pythons, rather DIY versions that are less expensive) or Aquarium Cleaning Machine is the more old fashioned method of a bucket. After filling the bucket I will shine a light at the surface and often the fry that were accidentally siphoned would be at the top along the edges of the bucket. I would then net them out and place them back into the aquarium. Of coarse hopefully I will find none. Carl

What kind of fish do you ahve in there? That could help me answer what kind iof fry it is. Also, how big is the tank? Some fish won't likely breed in some nsize tanks so knowing that will help too. Could it be a baby goldfish?!

Sorry, i forget to mention that Cral made some very good points. I always use a siphon with baby fish unless they are big enough or there are not so many that I can easily dump one. Good luck with yoru fishies!

Lots of good info here, just my old eyes are not what they use to be.

Platies and swordtails breed plenty. Look around, there might be more. Do you have both male and female swordtails and platies in there? Fry love to hide. Plus, I think these types of livebearers can give birth every month like the guppies I keep.
