One of the best things about the fish keeping hobby is there's always something to do. And although I'm returning to the hobby after some time away (and wow has technology changed things), I still struggle with one thing.
How the heck to you straighten coiled hoses? Argghh
Back in January, I purchased a SunSun filter. (I know - but I work a lot geeze) I'm trying to set things up and am struggling getting the hoses, or the twist in the hose, to not apply pressure or redirect my intake and spraybar once attached to the tank.
Any suggestions on how to 'relax' the hoses?
Oh, and also can someone point me to a pre-filter sponge that will fit over the HUGE intake on this filter. (SunSun WH303B)

Hi Paul,
Have you tried soaking the hoses in hot water? That should relax them.

Soaking the hoses in hot water (not boiling) will relax the hoses. The AAP Filter Max Sponge filter will fit on this intake of this SunSun Canister filter using supplied parts (sometimes the use of Teflon Tape and make for a snug fit) Resource: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/PreFilter.htmlCarl

Greetings.
Just a Post Script.... Anything I clean with hot tap water, I give a rinse in de-chlorinated water. Most things I add a dechlorinator to the hot water (in a bucket), but your hose will need more water (like in the tub).
