Continued: I have taken quite a few of them doing this, but these are the only pix I have sized at 640X480 so far. They must be having fun .

Interesting behavior. That would be nice to watch. Schooling is one of the nice things about tetras.

I used to have several of these, as well as the red neons. Unfortunately, much like regular neons, they don't seem to live very long.

I'm treating mine for Neon Tetra or FNT right now. They are ~ halfway through their treatments. I'm treating my Black Phantoms at the same time, just in case. I've got them all in the breeder net (between treatments) right now.

Greetings Angelminx,
>>>I've noticed them "flock" to the left side of the tank and school together against the left "wall".
The fish see their reflection in the glass and think there are even more of them (smile). I have several fish that "dance" with themselves (their reflection).
This is what my guess is anyways for their behavior.
Hope your black neons get better. I had one black neon that was over two years old and I kept buying more to keep him company....The new ones didn't live very long. I gave up on them and the poor black neon had to die alone (well, not entirely alone as there were other fish in the tank).
Cheers,
Judy

This is a question for Angelminx
Greetings,
Are you the member who posted pictures of your Black Neons with a "mystery illness"? There were light colored spots (not white spots - just lighter pale spots). I can't find those images now, but did find the Black Phantom images (and those are not what I was looking for).
Anyways.... I have a hi-fin paleatus cory with similar looking spots.... not white, just small light colored spots. I am going the no medication route for now (since I have a worm problem with two other fish). Just curious what you found worked. If cory cats weren't so hard to net, I would try the Methylene Blue bath. They do ban together making if difficult to get the one that needs the bath - plus they are good at hiding. I have always had to remove the decor when I needed to net a cory.

Greetings to you, too, Judy!
Yes, I'm the one who posted about the Black Neons. The thread is under Illness as Display Tank Treatment Options. I just took some more photos today, and need to download them onto my computer with some others I have taken of them. I am going to add some more info on them either later tonight or tomorrow when I have some more time to sit down an concentrate on their situation. I got my BioBandage today and am going to try that on them when I give them their evening bath. They do and don't look better, which I'll explain in that site.
