So, we talk a lot of fish around here. I thought it would be nice to try something a little different. Showing off the other animals we call family. I'll start first and would like everyone to join in. What other pets do you have? Me... I have 2 other cats and 3 other dogs... Yup. And that's more than enough for me. Between the fish, cats, and dogs, my house is very active. The funniest is when me and my wife, then our two kids, and then the five aminals all want to cuttle in bed... Super great night of sleep Here my pictures. This is William. He's about 12 years old now and pretty fluffy. Here is Prissy. She's almost 14 years old. Great personality. Here's my dog Glide. Two years old. Tyke. Here's a little over one year old. He's pretty funny and lots of people think he should have his own YouTube channel. And my wife's dog. Abby. Trust me, we cut that hair around her eyes and it just grows back. She doesn't like when we cut it either, so it's just hard. I hope you like my family. I look forward to seeing what other people post. This will be fun!

Love your pix, Devon! I love all animals but have an especial affinity for cats (maybe because my "other mother" when I was a baby was my Mom's cat, who slept with me in my crib). I used to be a pet groomer, so I know all about the hair problem--and some animals' feelings/reaction to getting trimmed, despite (usually) non-traumatic experiences. My Nala (actually Emmanala--she was named Emma at Adopt-A-Pet) is the same color as William, but doesn't always photograph "true". Here are a couple pix of her: This one was taken in natural daylight: The next 2 were taken at the "same" time, and in the same lighting (you can see what I mean about not photographing "true"): She can't really tolerate dairy products, but as long as I only allow her a couple of licks she is fine (otherwise she throws up). I wanted to get a couple "action" shots so I allowed her to have a treat. I have a couple of action shots I took of her as a kitten (she's 13 now), but they were taken with a disposable camera, so I have no idea how to get copies of them, or others, onto the computer. Nala is my pet "chicken"; she spooks at everything. Mom said I should have named her Miss Skitty! I think she was a stray when she was picked up as a kitten and taken to the animal shelter where I got her. I had to decide between her, another (very friendly) kitten, and a one-eyed adult cat that I fell in love with (Nala didn't show her "scary" self until they brought her to me to take home). Unfortunately, I was only allowed one.

I've had other animals over the years that I would love to share with everyone, but, again, this was before I had the digital camera . These included another cat, who had to be put to sleep just before turning 18. She was a white Domestic Long-hair that looked a lot like a Turkish Angora. Her name was Mewsette (Like in the animated movie "Gay Puree", starring Judy Garland as Mewsette). I've also had rabbits, mice, a rat, a Tiger Salamander, an Ornate Box Turtle, and a Gray Rat Snake (named Cadeuseus), among others--and, of course, fish! I always wanted a horse, but had to settle for working with them, instead (I was also a Color Maker at the Del Mar Race Track in California one year). I also did volunteer work in the Aviculture Department at Sea World, San Diego shortly after graduating from High School, as well as working at a private "zoo" out here. I have so many pictures that I wish I could share that were taken B.D. (before digital) . Oh, well... Here's another couple of Nala: She looks fat in the last one, but we've actually been having a battle keeping her weight up. Any suggestions on how to transfer pix from the B.D. ages to the computer/web would be welcome! Looking forward to more animal pictures (or videos)! Angelminx

Most printers sold are the "all in ones" that include a scanner. Simply place the photograph in question in the scanner and then scan to whatever folder you elect in a .jpg or other digital picture format

Any suggestions on how to transfer pix from the B.D. ages to the computer/web would be welcome! Also, local office supply stores have scanners you can use. Then transfer the pictures onto a disk or thumb drive. Loved seeing the pictures and reading the stories. I've my fair share of pets too. These are just my current ones. My last animal beside these was a cocktail and it escaped outside one day. It was a very sad bad. Looking forward to more too!

We have 3 dogs. We also have 6 cats but I only allow the kids to have them because they keep the mice from destroying my lawnmower! This is my dog, Lemmy. I've posted pictures of him before. He's a fox terrier, about a year and a half old. He is to the raccoons and opossums what the cats are to the mice but since he's a dog, I actually like him. This is Patches the Papillon. We just got her a couple of weeks ago as a retirement gift for my mother-in-law. Of course, the girls spend more time with her than anybody. She's a high energy handful. And finally. this is Taco (with Patches). He's the family pet. We got him when the kids were little before we moved in with the mother-in-law. He's a 10-year old, very overweight but very happy Chihuahua.

You can always just take a picture of the original paper picture with your digital camera. If you're careful and still, it will turn out.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your dogs! You definitely sound like a dog person, not a cat person! Your fox terrier reminds me of our Jack Russel we lost a couple years ago. Carl

Hi, Parker.
I LOVE Papillons! There was one that I took care of occasionally before I moved here that I just adored. His name was Trouble (which he wasn't). Unfortunately I live in Public Housing, and I can only have one cat (my 1st one died shortly after moving here) OR one small dog. I looked around shortly before I had to have Mewsette put to sleep, but couldn't find any Papillons or Cavalier King Charles Spaniels (my other favorite small dog). I got got my present cat (as a kitten) the same day I had to put Mewsette to sleep. This all happened on Friday September 7, 2001. Under the circumstances, because of my state of mind at the time, I wasn't affected by 9/11 as most people were.

Here are a few of my pets: Barney (a Dachshund/Cairn Terrier mix): Sandy; our very loving cat (who also has cost over $2500 in medical bills) Tiger, our outdoor cat and quite fickle: Jackie (with my daughter Danielle); our now deceased Jack Russel Terrier in her final month (she died from stomach cancer, was probably one of the best dogs I have ever had) My son, Timothy the Unicorn, at our Church VBS summer 2014: Carl
