Just out of curiosity, has anyone heard anything about Aquarian Brand fish food recently? I was curious about its ingredients, so I looked for it on the web, and couldn't really find anything. What I did find was either a company that was selling it (such as Marine Depot), or "UK" was in the address. I did pull up the info on the site that came up about goldfish food, and it said that "Jan. 4, 2014 Aquarian brand was launched by Mars Fishcare" and that "it 1st launched in the UK in 1975 with 8 varieties". It was 1975 or '76 that I started keeping fish. I lived in California at the time, and I used Aquarian brand flakes...

Yes I am quite familiar with this brand. They have been around a while and have been bought out a few times as well. As of recently, it has been owned/produced by the large conglomerate Mars Fish Care, which is a company I only do business with out of necessity as they have bought out a some decent products, but their business practices and customer service are very poor IMO. Back to Aquarian Fish food, this is an average brand from both my use and ingredient list. You can definitely do a lot better such as the new Paradigm, Aqua Master, Hikari, Sanyu, Aquatrol (now ZooMed), and many more. Please Reference: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Quality_Fish_Food.htmlThe above article has a recommended foods list that is not just based on my experience and testing going back to 1978, but the input of other professionals Carl

I try to feed my little guys quality food. Go with something that's known for quality. I just started the homemade Paradigm food and can't be happier. Quality ingredients and smells so fresh my fish rush over whenever I feed it. Even my pleco!

I was just curious about the Aquarian food since this is what I used so long ago, and hadn't seen it for a while. Another one I had used (~ 15 years ago) was by Blue Ribbon, and it was a mix of flakes, pellets and freeze-dried food. The marble hatchets that I had at the time really went for the pellets--before anyone else could even try--and everyone liked the freeze dried food, leaving the flakes till last.

BTW, I had no problem getting everyone to accept the Spirulina 20. They went for it the 1st time.
