I just received my Whisper Bio Bags this afternoon (12 pack, unassembled). I still have a couple left from the last time I bought them. I compared the filter bags, and also the boxes. My old box says 2002 on the bottom, and the new one says 2004. [BTW, I still have the bio foam from the "first" filter I had, and am using a replacement filter--all 3 have been Whisper 60 HOBs; I prefer the foam/sponge insert from my 1st two: much denser.] The filter bags look thicker than the ones I had left, but I haven't used them yet, so I don't know how well they hold up in comparison. The info on the packaging has been changed some (such as: my previous box has a picture of 2 angelfish on the front), but the only real differences are:
On the old box and not the new one it says "phosphate free" on the front, and there is an item # above the bar code.
On the new box, but not the old one: on the front it says "Economy 12 Pack Large Cartidges (fromerly known as Regular)"--and it doesn't mention Triad Filters, and there is a picture of each component. On one side is a Filter Cartridge Size Guide (table), and on the bottom, where it lists trademarks, it also says "MicroFilter".
Just thought you'd be interested.

Just thought you'd be interested. Looks like an update to the product. I don't think that there's to much problem with the older dates. I know brands upgrade over time. Does what's in bag look the same?

Yep, pretty much. There's no printing on the outside of the carbon packets any more. I haven't opened one up yet to compare the actual product, but the 2002 box did say that there was 50% more carbon, and the newer one doesn't mention anything about the amount (I forgot to mention that). The frame (which I don't change very often) is blue, instead of black now, and as I mentioned before, the filter bag looks a little thicker.
Well, my post duplicated again. I'm not sure what I'm doing to cause this, maybe I'm bumping something. Hopefully when I've this for a while, I'll get better.

There's a little icon on the top right of each post that looks like a little gear wheel. You can delete any posts that you want. That would take care of the duplicate post. Let me know if you need a picture.

angelminx, I deleted the the first duplicate post for you. You click the gear wheel by between the thumbs up sign and the down arrow. A menu opens up when you click the gear wheel. Hover your mouse over where it says moderate. Then you should see an option that says " Delete post" as the first option under moderate. I hope that helps! NOTE: The delete option is under Moderate for me, but it may not be for you since you are not an Admin. Proboards changed the way to edit, delete, etc posts and many other forum features quite a bit since I was last on Everything-Aquatic so I am not 100% of what it looks like for you. Renee
