This is not in anyway or in any form saying this is Bad, it actually maybe more of what to do with it. If this thread has to be moved because in the wrong place thats ok too But what I have found after purchaseing it The sponge filter # 5 pro and sunsun power head is actually that the sponge is a little to big for the [power head] The sponge is touching the side of tank because the suction cups are short. I (guess is want im trying to say, hopefully everyone can figure out what i am trying to explain the further I get into it.) the sponge has to stay very close to the glass to hold the suction cups in place. Everything goes to the filter ( good thing I guess) except for the food , it gets there before fish can consume it and it ends up behind the filter nearest to the side of the glass, and with in 1-2 days looks horrible and also looks like the food has turned to cotton balls. If the piece of the holder for the head had an extention so the sponge wouldnt have to lay against the glass would be awesome. Then I would have to say is the best I have yet experiened. ( better yet let me see if I can get a picture posted. Attachments:

With the #5 Sponge filter, it is too wide for about any power head so as to utilize the suction cups Sometime simple not using the lift tube will help with stability of the power head and sponge filter See this picture below (the filter on the far left is a #5): This next picture shows how to use rocks with sponge filters, especially large fish such as Oscars: Reference: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/sponge_filtration.htmlPlacing heavy rocks can stabilize the filter too, but may add more places for uneaten food to accumulate. I would also suggest switching out the sponge with the #5 PRO higher flow sponge based on your food "cotton ball" issues. Sponge Filter Resource: www.americanaquariumproducts.com/SpongeFilter.htmlOne more suggestion is to turn off the pump (unplug) while feeding so as to not draw food toward it, just set a timer to remember to plug back any this pump or any others as I know this is something I have forgotten many times to only realize hours later that I have left the aquarium with some of the pumps shut down.
