Before I go ahead and order it, the last question. The cover on the GroBeam 600 ULTIMA does give enough protection from humidity, so no canopy is needed? I have no space for canopy there (under Eclipse 2 hood). The mounting brackets are included. Is there anything else I may need to know before ordering?

The GroBeam 600 has an acrylic cover with a gasket to keep out moisture. However as with "any high" end LED that uses circuitry/drives to regulate current over each emitter for optimum output, you still need to mount it wisely to protect against potential humidity damage, if only from condensation. This means if mounted over an aquarium with no glass/acrylic top to allow at least 6 inches and plenty of air flow around your lights (no fans needed though), or if mounted over a tank with a glass/acrylic lid, to allow a 2 inch or more space See this article for more: aquarium-digest.com/2011/03/03/aquarium-led-light-installation-options/#ventingCarl
