I briefly looked over the article. Very good. I found that the sentences were shorter and better broken up IMO. Also, the beginning sentences of each paragraph seem to really introduce the topic of the section or just the paragraph itself better.

Thanks Renee,
However I am a firm believer that there is always room for improvement, especially in such a long and complicated article such as this one. So if you find any aspect that is still worded poorly or the thought does not come across well, please let me know or feel free to correct as you think might be better.
Admittedly some aspects of this article in particular cannot be worded in ways that are easy to follow, as per Misti, so some thoughts/sentences were not very easy to make more readable yet still remain scientifically correct.

You're welcome.
For tips on improvement (though the page seems very well done IMO), I did notice a few missing words resulting most likely from editing done such as the word "are" in one spot missing. Ex. "My goldfish (insert the word "is" here" my favorite fish and I have a 40 gallon aquarium." Minor things like that do not take away from the understanding of the sentence and are very minor- though in a 100% correct sentence they would be there. I also still feel some pictures could use vspace and hspace as well that appear to have been newly put in. But all in all, from what I could see, it was a big improvement and much easier to read and make sense of. I hope that helps.
I apologize that I do not have time at the moment to work on it. The last 2 weeks have been very hectic. But I will let you know when I can work on it.
Renee

Edit: Ooops, maybe not the best place for this post.... The subject was right -- but not the right location in the forum...Sorry about that. Greetings, This looks like a good spot for me to share my wonderful Christmas gift from my son....He bought me something the HE likes (and yes he wants one now, too). He surprised me with a new light for my 75 gallon aquarium - A 48" Satellite Freshwater LED+ light from Current. (Actually the gift tag said it was from Buster -- his cat*). current-usa.com/aquarium-led-lights/satellite-led-fixtures/satellite-freshwater-led-plus/It has 12 different pre-set moods/lighting effects - that can fade in and fade out, too. We created a custom setting for now - white lights with "Radiant Orchid" (Yes, just magenta -- but "radiant orchid" is the color of the year for 2014). My fish look better with more blue tones in the lights rather than the yellows/orange/or greens. Right now, they are under "moonlight". I don't have real plants... so bright lights are not necessary. My fish really don't care for bright lights. My son played with the light a bit today... I need to read up on how it all works. I found the pages online where I can make the print bigger. My old light fixture really did need to be replaced (it is a old white shop style light - with aquarium bulbs).... I bought a new 48" fluorescent fixture a couple years ago, but it didn't fit inside the hood -- and we need the hood.... We had two cats at the time that would leap on top of the aquarium - now we just have Boomer that gets on top. Hood is a must. Hubby was always going to route out the inside of the hood just enough to the light fixture would fit... Just never got around to it. I will find someone to give the fixture to. The guy my son bought the aquarium from made the oak hood. I hope your Christmas was as MERRY as mine! Judy *My son knows I have a habit of buying myself things - that are labeled from Boomer, Malika and/or the Fish. So I guess Buster has good taste, too.

So FUN! I don't have plants.... so the gimmicks are fun for me. Right now it is dawn in my aquarium. I don't recommend this light if you need to grow plants. If it is storming outside, I may try the storm button.
The only negative reviews for this light (that I read last night) were that the sensor goes out and then the remote doesn't work. My son will give me the receipt. I have decided to keep the fluorescent fixture and lights rather than give them away. I am not a bells and whistles person.... so I won't replace this fancy light if it goes out when it is out of warranty. We will just have to get around to adapting the hood so I can use the fixture I bought several years ago and is in my storage room.
This Christmas, my son bought me a rainbow of lights.... a different kind of rainbow this time. I will buy my rainbow fish with his gift card.
My son is a bit of a "Geek" (Very into new technology -- so yes, gimmicks).... Many of the fish he has purchased can be found in the Geek" section at Aquarium Adventure (Columbus, OH). The only ones I have purchased too are the red-tale slender hemiodus and the Peacock Gudgeons.
My son made my original Moon lights that are fixed to the hood (blue LED fixture) -- so I will continue to use those over night. So...one year for Christmas, he gave me the moon!....Now I have the whole sky! Well...no twinkling stars. But sun, moon and clouds.... in a rainbow of colors.
Cheers!
Judy

I would definitely suggest a full reading of my Lighting Article for both you and your son if he is into tech stuff, since it is a very tech heavy article, but also explains things from a scientific angle, and this is very important since lighting is an area of fish keeping where so much information is incorrect and more based on gimmicks Moonlighting is an area where we as fish keepers (myself included by the way) prefer blue lights for our night lighting, but if night lighting is to be properly applied to fish breeding, reef keeping, etc. it is actually not blue as per the Lighting Article www.americanaquariumproducts.com/Aquarium_Lighting.htmlAs well this article tackles this subject in particular: www.fish-as-pets.com/2010/09/aquarium-moon-lights.htmlBTW, I definitely would suggest a read by you and your son of the entire article I referenced to from Aquarium Article Digest, as well as its companion article too: aquarium-digest.com/2010/04/11/led-aquarium-lights-lighting/Carl

Will do...(winking right back at you). I have already sent my son several links to various articles....Neither of us are into breeding fish....He does have plants in his 20 gallon and 60 gallon....He just replaced the light on his 20 gallon, but he might be interested in reading your article the next time he needs a light.
My son no longer has salt water fish....I now know what some of the problems were (after reading so many of your articles that also pertained to salt water - and how various products work etc).... but won't share with him what went wrong (grin). I am thankful he replaced his salt water tank with another freshwater tank so I can help him with that.
Cheers,
Judy

I'm pretty familiar with this LED, even though I personally haven't had it over my tank. The features can be fun to play with. I'm not sure if this model has a timer for some of the features or if they can only be turned on manually. Some people like the tech, but rant about not having a timer to have them turn on automatically.
I would say it's a pretty nice option, given that there's no plants in the tank. Also keep in mind, the same rating of light required for plants, has been proven to help fish (and human) health. 6500K So there is a benefit to have the correct lighting.
I would warn about using to many warm colors from the fixtures (yellows). These could cause some algae issues in the tank.
Have fun and thanks for sharing. The fixture was very nice of your son.
